In regards to the Jesper/Heron thing, I think Leigh said she like "Heron" becaue "Jesper" because it's two syllables and startse Jesper is build like a long skinny bird. She said she decided not use that name because Matthias is referred to as "Helvar" pretty often in the books and she didn't want readers confusing "Heron" with "Helvar" (I also personally liks with a "J" like "Jordan" and Leigh makes numerous parallels between the two characters in the books aside from Kaz's slip in CK)

I'm curious if you have any headcanons regarding the crows and hogwarts houses? I personally don't have any strong feelings for any matching in particular (except that Kaz is a Ravenclaw. I'd invite anyone to try and tear that headcanon from my cold dead hands)
