I don't want to reblog that entire thing again, most of its contents saddens me. When people are talking about Cullen and what bioware said he did dismiss one very important factor. Cullen WAS (still is) suffering from PTSD a mental illness. After research indepth before writing him let me tell you - those who suffer it donāt just deal with the few weeks of torture they relive it -everyday. Blackwall was of sound mind - Cullen had a legit reason for acting beyond his control and needing help.
Okay. I think youāre missing my point. I am not disputing Cullenās suffering. I know that he suffered. I also know that suffering has long-term effects.
And if you are arguing that someone who exhibits a combination of trauma, extreme religious bigotry, addiction and possible symptoms relating to exposure to incredibly dangerous substances is in no condition to be commanding an army ... I concur entirely. He shouldnāt be anywhere nearĀ the Inquisition. Heās incredibly dangerous to a lot of people who have already suffered quite enough, and would personally likely be better served by a life away from the army. I mean ā I canāt stand him, but thatās still true.

This is a lie. It is an ugly lie. It isnāt even a thing that can be said to be true in Inquisition, where he remains largely untroubled by mage suffering. He has not redeemed himself or changed his ideas.
If your Inquisitor is anti-mage, heās allowed to continue acting against them pretty much indefinitely. And every surviving Circle mage has as much claim to suffering from trauma and mental illness as he does. But no one has ever protected them, or given them space to act out what they feel. Certainly not to go torture Templars for hurting them.
Maybe he does needĀ āhelpā. But surely part of thatĀ āhelpā would involve stopping him from harming other people? Other people who have been beaten and tortured and imprisoned and starved and threatened with death? Other people whom he consistently seeks to oppress?
