Kelc - "Open" Dreamtime Planet - The Second Barramundi Sampler 1994 Trip Hop / Downtempo
Super duper slept-on mid-90s psychedelic trip hop knocker out of Belgium. Erhan Kurkun and Ludo Camberlin made up the duo of Kelc and would later release a handful of 12-inches as Encoder between '97 and '98, but this exclusive off of a 1994 comp called Dreamtime Planet appears to be the first thing that they ever released together. Erhan, who is a violinist and guitarist, and Ludo, who can play the flute, combine those talents to give us a real spiritual beaut here. Erhan would later go on to become a member of popular industrial techno group Lords of Acid and Ludo retired from the industry in 2008 and now owns a driving school, but he was a big studio denizen before that, working at the Play It Again Sam! and Antler Subway labels under a bunch of different roles; and he contributed a good deal to this otherworldly Barramundi series particularly.
