Realizing Tear and Arietta are the same age messed me up

She just blurts it out to make him stop his painful speech about how if if any of his friends were to have “possibly romantic feelings for each other” then he would totally support them no matter who these “people” might be and also it would, hypothetically, be easier for everyone if such relationships, should they exist, were out in the open.
