Keito's big cute round glasses appreciation post
(Extremely minor manga spoilers ig)
It is such a shame that we only got this outfit for 3 pages in chapter 60 before it skipped to the next day because I love this one
I am of the firm belief that Keito is Like That because he's got several cans of worms in his psyche and he is being so good about not opening any of them

I love keitsuki 😄
The thing about having a repressed blorbo who doesn’t/hasn’t yet Un-repressed themself is that when you imagine what they could be if they expressed themself and became happier, you’re pretty much tautologically radically re-imagining the character. The more repressed they are, the more true this is. And if transgender headcanons are a part of this, then it’s doubly so because you’re changing their gender presentation (to some degree). It’s not like you’re pulling things out of nowhere, because if this character is repressed then normally you have at least some kind of idea of what exactly it is they’re repressing (especially if you’re enough of a scholar of the blorbo that you are going down this “radical reimagining” path at all) . But it still means that you have to be super duper brave to talk about it publicly, because it looks like you’re having one big egregious “He Would Not Fucking Say That” moment.
Also. Like. Ok I made Natsuki look pretty bad with that last analysis. But that’s just one half of the keitsuki equation. The other half is that Natsuki is an incredibly perceptive person who has a sixth sense for telling what other people are thinking and feeling and what’s going on. But he is plagued by inertia and he never does anything with all that he sees. He’s also naturally talented when it comes to music, but again he just does not put in more than the bare minimum effort, if that. At his lowest point (chapter 26 flashback), he doesn’t even care to keep himself alive. He’d probably have wasted away if Keito wasn’t supporting him materially and keeping him on track, and he definitely would've when he was 15 if Asuka hadn't regularly fed him.
But Keito is the opposite, she throws herself into taking care of people practically but is a bit deficient when it comes to being there for them emotionally. We see this with her brother Kaito in chapter 60, how he doesn’t care how elaborate the food is or if the house is clean, he just wishes she would eat with them normally like she used to. Also, the emotion that primarily drives her interactions with people is anger, and she seems hell-bent on sending herself to an early grave via burnout. All this considered, she could stand to be a bit more like Natsuki: stopping and observing the people around her.
So yeah, they’re pretty neat.
