The First Omen will be released on Digital on May 28 and on Hulu on May 30 before hitting Blu-ray and DVD on July 30 via 20th Century Studios. The 2024 horror film serves as a prequel to the 1976 classic The Omen.

Arkasha Stevenson (Channel Zero) makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with Keith Thomas (The Vigil) and Tim Smith. Nell Tiger Free, Tawfeek Barhom, Sônia Braga, Ralph Ineson, and Bill Nighy star.

I enjoyed both adaptations while watching Cabinet of Curiosities, but I find it interesting how Keith Thomas’s take on “Pickman’s Model” inserted a lot of lore from the Cthulhu Mythos that wasn’t in the original story, while Catherine Hardewick’s “Dreams of the Witch House” pretty much removes any connection the story has to Azathoth or Nyarlathotep.
