The petite female groaned out loudly, purposely making it where he could hear her rather than it being under her breath. Slowly she rolled over and draped an arm over his chest, tugging her body closer to his own as she hugged him just barely. “it is too morning.. look at the window”, she whispered softly and tilted her head back a bit looking at the window, seeing the suns rays barely shining through the small space that was open. “if you don’t get up I won’t make you breakfast.. I’ll go in there and make all kinds of food just for myself and won’t let you have any” — She nodded her head, huffing a bit seeing as that didn’t even phase the sleeping beauty that resided in her bed.
Yumi rolled over on her back and stared up at the ceiling for a moment before removing the blanket from her lower body and sat up in the bed. “okay then ~ no food for you babe” she casually shrugged her shoulders up a bit and pushed her body up from the bed and tip-toed to his side of the bed and crawled on top of him, “wake up.. or i’m gonna pour some water on you” she teased a bit, a smug like smirk forming on her lips as she sat there and glanced down at the other for a moment. She brought her hands to rest on his chest before she began to playfully poke his stomach and sides until she got something out of him.
“Are you still awake..?”

Gaeul hummed into her phone, eyes flitting over to the windows where the sky grew lighter with each passing second although there was no sign of the sun behind the thick cover of clouds that was covering the city. Her cats were long asleep, curled up in her couch and her television on mute was broadcasting some early morning news with the news reporters most likely wishing their best wishes for the new year. Gaeul enjoyed the silence of the morning though; it brought her a kind of peace, a soothing quietness she wished could last longer– but it felt even more particular because it was ephemeral.
“I’m awake. I told you I’d be able to not fall asleep.” She smiled and stretched her arm towards her mug so she could make herself another tea - she had stopped counting how many cups she had. “But I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to do anything today. I’m probably just going to lazy around on the couch and ignore all calls to go outside.” Gaeul chuckled, dragged her free hand through her messy hair before she yawned, her eyes feeling heavier suddenly. “Tell me about what you’re going to do today? I’m about to fall asleep.”

The room was empty as it was. Aside from the two beings, its furnish mainly consisted of bookshelves, a mahogany desk, and a matching coffee table. She was in the process of redecorating her office for the oncoming season, one supportive of ivory woods and Jean Honore Fragonard pieces. What more could have possibly disappeared in his eyes?
His cologne was a whisky brand she couldn’t quite specify. It lingered from his chapped lips, imbibed by the crevices of his neck. Was it, perhaps, Suntory? She much preferred the fragrance of a Spanish brandy.
“I’m not surprised,” the female mused, liberating her dark brown tresses from the confinement of a black hair tie. The added pressure did nothing for her pulsating temples. “But how are you this inebriated—on a Friday noon?”
She exhaled a sigh. “Perhaps I should request a cup of tea on your behalf. I still don’t understand why you insist on always showing up around here like this. I’m just as busy as you—if not more.”

A sharp breath passed his lips as he had perceived the words of the stranger; whom he had talked to for a short while. He frowned, as if it was wrong not to know his answers— but how could he know that he was well aware when to go to the doctor and when not. “I can take care of it myself.” He stated with a rather neutral voice, while he thought about it a little longer in his mind — knowing well that he sometimes overestimates himself, but there was no way to show weakness towards a stranger. Also, was he even that interested to help him ? There was no hint in his expression to tell him whether he’d go this far or not.

Her voice was that of a child when caught in a lie: loud, rash, and flustered. Her cheeks puffed up, a splash of soft pink spreading across them as her fingers began to wriggle and pluck at each other anxiously. She was dancing around the topic, eyes darting away from the man she’d F I G U R E D was the one she was supposed to look after. Poking her index fingers together and still looking away, she murmured,

Technically, it wasn’t a lie so she could save face on that one. But really, what else could she say to the very person she was trying to start protecting ?
