Easing back into the world of The Nameless with a little side story around one of the High Sheevra, Kehs, and Renescen's Osmium Sage. Chapter 1 of Alloy is now available to all Patreon tiers and runs about 4.3k words.

I’ve been wanting to write more side stories about the High Sheevra, so this has been nice to stretch the writing muscles again and get back into organizing myself around the game :)

The High Sheevra

Ooohhh (I cannot confirm or deny the fucked-up status for now but 👀)

They definitely don’t make deals as often, with the exception of Clo, Kehs, and Atra, who are a little more hands-on and do make deals every now and again. They prefer dealing in time.

Sirin avoids the city and mortalis if they can help it, and that’s a similar case with Itzal and Tlali. If the Clan Obsidian pair do go into the city, they'll usually only go together.

While Sirin tries to avoid making deals as much as possible, they prefer manipulating or taking memories. Itzal and Tlali tend to prefer trading in health and the physical state of the body.

Tacita doesn’t mind being among the city and the mortalis, but tends not to make deals. She’s only been pushed to it a couple of times in the past few years - usually when a mortalis has been desperate and a-little-too-loud about trying to find a sheevra, and it required more cleanup/coverup than usual. She prefers trading in secrets and knowledge.

Hi hello! 🥰 And haha this is a fun ask!

The Sage is absolutely the most collected. In fact, probably inches closer to enjoying challenges more than anything, approaching any inconvenience like a problem to be solved. It's hard to get them to be annoyed about minor things, but for larger situations would tend to go intensely quiet while figuring out what to do next.

The Healer acts more affronted than they actually are, but generally is happy enough to work around something without lingering on it for too long. If the minor inconvenience is a person being obstinate/stubborn/rude (Magesmith) they'll approach it with more finesse than usual for about two minutes, before switching to sarcasm and giving a piece of their mind since that's one of their pet peeves.

Oisein tries (with mixed success) to act calmer than they are. Strictly wants to maintain the go-with-the-flow attitude as much as possible, but definitely gets affronted by inconveniences in a "how dare you" sort of way. May not show it as full frustration, but you'd be able to tell by the way their smirk falters and their jaw clenches.

And the Magesmith is absolutely affronted and wears it evident on their face. Not in a super angry way, but scoffs and makes a lot of disgruntled noises while they work around the inconvenience, and definitely mutters about it for a while. Is a little sour for a bit after, but is easily and happily distracted if someone close to them gives them crap for it.

Bonus other characters:

Depending on the inconvenience, Sirin would be either the angry cursed black cat meme, or tired Ben Affleck. There is no in-between.

Clo approaches things calmly, Kehs complains about it the whole time but gets on with it, and Atra looks and is offended at any minor inconvenience.

Jac is extremely unbothered by inconveniences, and approaches everything slowly and methodically. Cerise is also generally unbothered but approaches things with a bit more pep and gusto.

The Architect would pout and grumble, but move through the inconvenience fairly quickly and be chipper on the other side.

The Osmium Sage is similar to our Sage in that he approaches things as a problem to figure out, so would be less annoyed and just want to take the next steps. The Platinum Sage would narrate them dealing with the inconvenience like a conquest and a nemesis to be vanquished, and is always up for the challenge.
