~*~
There are three things Nellie Belanger can say for certain:
1. Her final year of university might be a little harder than expected.
2. She’s definitely not spiralling.
3. She clearly just needs to get laid.
Which is obviously the only reason she jumps to help out JP Marchand the moment he asks for a favor that involves a weekend getaway, a sexy gondola ride, and oh yeah, being his fake girlfriend for the night.
When an impulsive decision (or five) leads to the revelation of a secret (…or five) and Nellie is faced with the consequences of her own actions, her spiral leads her to the one person she’s begun to realize she can always count on.
But with JP revealing a secret (or five?) of his own, Nellie’s left wondering three big things:
How much does she really know about her best friend’s brother?
What does she actually want from him?
And most importantly…
Why is she like this?
My Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This last installment of Keep Me If You Can is a wrap. The author tied this one up with a big beautiful bow. As Nellie's story continues, we get an even in depth dive into her issues and her dad. There were times when I wanted to strangle her dad. He is really a terrible person throughout, but don't worry readers redemption is on the horizon for many characters including him.
JP and Nellie have a hard time of it this go round and the issues that plague these two characters is deep seated. Nellie is really screwed up in the head. She doesn't realize that her issues are there. Everyone can see them but her. This book will be a revelation to her. But she just might destroy everything before she figures it out.
The characters in this story are very strong supporting and main characters. Each character are deeply created to compliment each other in specific ways. They are carefully crafted to play their roles and are all v4ery independent, loyal and strong.
This book carries alot of emotional baggage throughout. I wanted to cry, scream and swoon all at once in some scenes. It really deep dives into sexuality and some of the struggles people carry with it. How some use it as a coping mechanism and some struggle with infidelity or preference. I felt that Nellie used it as an escape or coping mechanism and it really warps the reality of what a true relationship looks like.
The author did a wonderful job of writing this story and all the books should be read in order. Nellie's character is very complex. This book is all about that and her journey to heal what she doesn't even realize is pain. It is a twisted read and has lots of emotion and sexual situations. It is very well written and shows a different side of reality for some people. I really enjoyed it and loved JP. He is an amazing, sweet, caring person whom shows one side to the public and one to the private. His private life is just what Nellie needs even if she doesn't know it.
