Just a broken record, playing all the same tunes, the ones you don't know the dances to. Skipping when the time is right, sending hearts into flight. Just a broken record, who only plays one tune, the tune you don't have the time to dance to. You cower in the crowded room, hoping the sounds and vibrations will never make it to you, for they scratch at your back and dig into your shoulders, making you feel as if the world is over. Just a broken record, sitting along a wall, bringing you to your knees, because we love to watch you fall. Just a broken record, skipping over chords, making you run towards the door but as you make your way across the floor, you realize you're unable to move anymore. Just a broken record, brought you to your knees, threw in your face all the things you tried to keep a mystery and you listen to the broken record playing smoothly in your head, reminisce on the times I spent in your bed. Just a broken record but you know it's so much more, you wonder why the world brought you to this door. To the door you slammed shut, afraid to gain the guts to face the things burried inside of you, deep down inside of you. Just a broken record, playing all the same tunes, the ones you chose to ignore the dances to. The ones that lurk up on you when you close your eyes, the ones that won't let you continue telling all these lies and you love this broken record but you'll never admit because you feel as if you are unfit but let me tell you, darling, I can tell from across the room that you are unsure of your own tune and you hide behind this broken record unable to move, hoping someone will come and save you soon. Just a broken record, picked you up off the floor, showing you a world you have never seen before and I am that broken record, playing in your mind, hoping you will see that I am of your kind. I too face the heartache, you so sadly know and I too ignore the dances of my own show. Just a broken record but I grew to so much more, spreading my potential out to you, still on the floor. I wonder when you'll pick it up, starting using it, stop going back to the same old tunes you heard before.
