maybe standing outside in the dead of winter is a bad idea, but her head is racing with thoughts surrounding what happened that evening. the folks that saw it all happen now look at her differently for her reaction, & can she blame them for it ? she's always been an outsider, & now ? now things were worse.
she heard footsteps crunching on the frozen ground. a heavy sigh escaped as she raised her hands, β listen, dina, i don't wanna β her words were cut short as green eyes found the owner of the footsteps. slowly, she swallowed, her hands lower, but before she could say another word, he spoke, & this time, she listened.
β it's too late to say it, but i wanted to say it anyway.β
β joel, β she could only say his name. her gaze lowers to her hands as they curl into little fists. β i ... ah, fuck, are you really gonna make me say it ? β ellie hates this part. issues like these only started to pile on, & for what ? because both were too damn stubborn to admit when they fucked up ? or was it the fear that they both danced around & avoided ?
all the things i should('nt) have said , co - starring @keepfight1n as joel miller.
