Do you want to make a positive impact on the environment while also beautifying your neighborhood? Keep Denton Beautiful's Tree Your Block Program might just be the perfect opportunity for you!

The program aims to provide free trees to Denton residents located in "tree-needy" areas for planting on private, residential properties. By doing so, it not only helps in reducing carbon footprint but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the neighborhood.

The Tree Your Block Program offers a neighborhood-centered tree giveaway opportunity, with selected groups hosting their own mini-giveaway on-site right in their neighborhood. Through this program, KDB will provide 100 trees (3-gallon size native or adapted species) per neighborhood, tree owner’s manual booklets for all participants, sign-in sheets to register planting addresses for all participants, and assistance and resources to neighborhoods as they plan their giveaway event.

Neighborhoods participating in the program agree to water and care for the trees in the interim days between delivery and the giveaway and select a lead volunteer to work directly with KDB in making arrangements for the giveaway. They also need to register a planting address for each tree they give away, using the provided sign-in sheets, arrange a location in their neighborhood for the giveaway, coordinate traffic needs, and oversee logistics on the day of the giveaway. The program also provides door hangers and promotional materials to help spread the word about the tree giveaway to neighbors.

Team Green Cleaners is a group of Denton residents who are passionate about their city and its environment. Our primary goal is to make Denton a better place to live by promoting cleanliness and sustainability. Our efforts are focused on raising awareness for Keep Denton Beautiful, an organization that shares our vision and is already doing great work in this area. We believe that with our combined efforts, we can create a cleaner and more beautiful Denton.

The Denton Redbud Festival has been a popular event in the community since 1994, promoting the beauty of the town and the pride of its residents. You can find a wide variety of vendors at the festival, selling everything from plants and gardening supplies to handmade products and household items. There are also plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy, along with live music from local artists.

The festival has a long history, dating back to the 1930s when it was an annual celebration at Texas Woman's University. In 1994, the festival was revived by Keep Denton Beautiful to honor Denton's status as the "Redbud Capital of Texas."

Everyone is welcome to attend the 29th Annual Denton Redbud Festival on Saturday, April 20, 2024. The event is free and no registration is required. So, come and join in the fun!

Have you ever wanted to help clean up your community but are not sure where to start? Keep Denton Beautiful has a great program called Meetup Cleanup that provides volunteer opportunities to help clean up streets, parks, and neighborhoods in Denton. The best part is that it is flexible to your schedule and group size. 

You can join a one-time volunteer opportunity or participate regularly. The staff at Keep Denton Beautiful will help you find a location or discuss a neighborhood event that you can help with. After the cleanup, all they ask is that you complete a short report to document the positive impact you made on the community. Meetup Cleanups reduce litter, promote sustainability, and engage Denton residents in proper waste disposal.
