Honestly, I'm grateful to God for my depression episodes and suicide ideation. Yes! I'm grateful. it's a blessing! (Albeit in disguise) . WHY? Because it offers me things I can never have achieved without experiencing it first hand: perspective, empathy and understanding beyond those who have never suffered (this way)... A more mindful existence . And I think one of the reasons why the divine let's us (the "smart", the "successful", the "religious") experience this pain too, is because we're more sure of how we express ourselves! And we can finally FINALLY give voice to those less eloquent than us. We can finally defend fellow warriors from the toxic-positivity of others. We can say "I'm religious but I still have bad mental health." "I have a high paying job but I still get stressed." "I am grateful for this life but it doesn't stop the suicidal thoughts." We are the irony. We are the paradox... To show everyone that no one is immune to sickness and suffering. .
