Phantasmagoria arena starter for @dutybounded @elegiac-boar @keen-kin

Three new enemies appeared before them, and at the moment, they were only three team members strong. Previous taken hits still impacted them, and Rhys figured he’d have his hands full for the round with healing.

He was excited to try out wind magic too, but after the underwhelming results of the shock stick, he was alright with sticking to what he knew first.

Rhys turned towards Dimitri with a better healing staff than he’d had before in hand. “Here we go!”

 The rain came down so suddenly that none of you manage to get your umbrellas open in time… But since your gear is drenched and your clothing unsalvageable, you decide to have a little ‘sparring’ in the rain. You smack the other umbrella with yours and grin. En garde! [Grants Sword +1]

Mock patrol’s just finished swapping out for the day, and so as he heads back toward the monastery with Larcei, Ewan hums in good cheer. It looks gorgeous out! Nothing like a good day and good company to lift the spirit - and Stones know just about everyone at Garreg Mach could use it these days. It’s a new year, albeit a one saddled with old memories, good and bad.

A sunny day seems the perfect cure to any unproductive brooding the mage might have trudged into. Alas,

the rain hits with the suddenness of a snap o’ the fingers.

Rude, he muses, glowering at the skies... Super rude.

But a smile better suits the mage. Always has. Better suits the swordswoman beside him, too. A curious gleam in his eyes, he turns to her, smirking with mischief.

“Riddle me this,” he starts, unaware of the funny little coincidence in his choice of words. “Two hapless souls caught in the rain, naught but their umbrellas to their name, and it’s much too late for them to be of use besides...”

He leans back, points his ‘blade’ toward Larcei. He doesn’t know much about swordsmanship, in truth. But he’s always been good at pretending.

“What’s one to do?”

Elincia shook her head in response to Larcei’s compliment. It was sincere but she really wasn’t convinced it was deserving of praise. After all, it just showed she had way too much time for tea breaks.

“It’s not that impressive, Bergamot is one of my very favourites. The orange oils are quite distinct but I can’t tell the difference between most other teas. It’s a very one note party trick!” She laughed, not intending to sound self-deprecating. “Clearly it works when the stars align though.”

“I’m not sure a trouser suit would work as well on me as it clearly does on you but,” Elincia paused to take a sip of her tea, “I’d love to try it out all the same.”

She preferred pants on the battlefield and during training of course, but she’d grown up in long dresses and skirts. Larcei seemed to shine and dazzle in her suit, it was the perfect fit for her, beyond just the exquisite tailoring. The swordswoman appeared so at ease, completely in her element. A confidence that was simply captivating.

“I’d love that, truly. Thank you, Larcei.”

The stamp system was designed to facilitate networking - Elincia and Larcei were already on friendly terms. There were no rules against them swapping stamps though and it wasn’t going to stop her from socialising.

   “ Thanks, ”   Febail finally manages to say to Larcei once the two of them have made it to Leicester territory. The journey to get here was easier than he thought, but then again, he had been willing to take students from other houses along with him to Empire missions without so much as another question. He wonders if his offer to do more in exchange for such a ride made the offer more enticing to the Blue Lion.

But... then again, there was another aspect — the one that had convinced him to first ask it of Larcei before seeing anyone else.

“ I figured asking you was my best bet behind Lana. She's always puttin' in a good word for you, telling me to talk to you some more. ”   He can't say he quite understands how the two of them are friends, but then again, Lana seems to have a way to weasel her way into anyone's heart.

...Not that he feels it's his place to ask. People were allowed to be friends with whomever they wanted. It's not like he had any reason to be controlling of anyone, anyway.

It was selfish of her to be here on tonight of all nights. Any other evening and visiting the tower would be just another part of her routine walk through the monastery grounds but on the night of the ball, on this holiday, it belonged to the many children here.

She had wondered once how the tower’s legend had first sprung up and if it were strictly pious of her to let it continue. Eventually, Rhea had decided that the hope it seemed to bestow on each generation outweighed any of the theological ramifications of a wish granting building and privately she felt the wonder people attributed to it was quite dear.

Now as she looked up at a sky dark even for the time of year she desperately prayed for that wonder to visit her too. It was always on anniversaries such as this that she yearned for guidance the most. What she came across instead or who came across her was a young student from Jugdral. She shook her head at the mention of an interruption. “Not at all. Larcei, yes? I am relieved you found me as it seems I have spent more time here than I had anticipated.” 

She stepped back from the parapet and turned fully to greet her visitor, gesturing for her to feel free to take up the spot she had just been in. 

Priam hadn’t thought the game room would hold much interest for him- until he spotted the dart board. He stopped what had been a short tour to only familiarize himself with the lodge to examine the board and darts, clusters of darts with different colored flights on the end for easy scorekeeping.

He picked up a dart and felt the weight of it in his hand, gauging the kind of force needed for it to fly. A noise behind him caught his attention and he turned, an easy grin appearing on his face.

Mission Task Board: It began with a crab with a knife. Monday night’s seafood surprise took a bit of a twist when crabs broke free of their bindings, picked up arms — kitchen knives, forks, utensils of all degrees of pointiness — and began a crustacean revolution that spilled out into the mess hall. Will you fight them back and restore order to the kitchens? Or will you lead them to glorious freedom? [ Sword +1 ]

All Gaius wanted was a nice snack from the kitchen. Normally he’d be ale to sneak out a pie or two, but what greets him is the sound of panic. He’s confused since there’s no fire. What other disaster in the kitchen could be worst than a fire? All those burnt pies and melted chocolate... it’d be a tragedy. 

Instead, what he sees are people hiding behind the kitchen counters, fleeing personnel, and... armed crabs ready to stab at anyone that went within 5 inches of them.

Gaius had to pinch himself a couple of times to make sure he wasn’t having a fucked up dream after falling asleep right after snacking. It’s the third pinch that confirmed that it was impossible and he hasn’t actually eaten yet. This crab revolution... was actually real.

“...right. I have nothing to do with this.” He’s about to turn away when one of the crabs braved the front lines and raised a fork against him ‘menacingly’. The loudest snort he could ever muster immediately follows and Gaius couldn’t resist crouching down to give the little fella a better look. “Well ain’t ya brave?”
