Kat's ESC Discourse S7 E2: Vocals On Blunt 37 -- Chanée and N'evergreen, A Moment Like This (Denmark) This is a shame, honestly. It's a half-decent song, and the staging is amazing (which is probably how this got to fifth). But the singers... I'm not fond of them. First of all, what even are the names. Christina Chanée is a somewhat competent singer but the guy cannot sing at all. They have okay stage chemistry but I really don't see why people liked this so much. 36 -- Juliana Pasha, It's All About You (Albania) Another one where I just don't get the hype. The chorus and verses are ok pieces on their own but together they're incredibly off-putting and just don't work. Juliana is a good performer but she was slammed with a terrible outfit and something about her voice and the song together just nag at me in a way I don't really know how to explain.

Kat's ESC Discourse S6 E2: I Don't Believe 41 -- Loukas Giorkas ft StereoMike, Watch Me Dance (Greece) I've said it before and i'll say it again - rapping is Never Good in Eurovision. The chorus of this song is alright, but the verses are just a mess. 40 -- Homens Da Luta, A Luta É Alegria (Portugal) WHAT THE FUCK PORTUGAL. Like seriously Portugal who hurt you. And ok if you're gonna send a political/joke song at least send people who can sing well and not this mess. It's like they're on a really bad children's show.

Kat's ESC Discourse S5 E2: Who Hurt You 40 -- Englebert Humperdinck, Love Will Set You Free (United Kingdom) His dancers were good but honestly i didn't like much else about it. It's not the kind of music i would voluntarily listen to and he has no stage presence himself. 39 -- Joan Franka, You And Me (Netherlands) First of all, why was a headdress a good idea??? now that that's out of the way, it's a boring song and Joan gives me kind of a creepy vibe. Not the worst dutch country song i guess but definitely not the best either. Her appalachia band or whatever was good but that was the only thing i liked.

Kat's ESC Discourse S4 E2: Cartoons 37 -- ESDM, Contigo Hasta El Final (Spain) It's a good song but it was badly performed. Raquel's live vocals were disappointing (although not the worst ever). I like her dress but she gives me a Dora The Explorer vibe for some reason (maybe it's the hair?) and that makes it hard to take her seriously. 36 -- Moje 3, Ljubav Je Svuda (Serbia) It's a good song and they're good singers but oh god the STAGING. Well, not the staging staging, but those outfits? No. If they were going for an angel-devil sort of thing, they could have given them outfits that made sense, and the blonde girl (i think her name is Nevena?) an outfit that doesn't make people's eyes hurt. I liked the dynamic they had going but the way it was executed was just terrible.

Kat's ESC Discourse S3 E2: Not Voices Of Angels 35 -- Dilara Kazimova, Start A Fire (Azerbaijan) I loved loved loved the staging of this, but the song,,,, no. Its lyrics are nonsensical, the structure of the song is boring, the instrumental doesn't fit right with the rest of the song, and Dilara really just doesn't have a good voice. I'm sorry, but like...this is probably my least favorite Azeri entry. 34 -- Tijana Dapcević, To The Sky (FYR Macedonia) This song was unforgivably staged. Both Tijana and her dancers were doing something that they didn't seem to feel comfortable doing - Tijana looked really not at ease especially. Also, I hated her outfit. She must surely have been a Barbara Dex contender with that. She has a decent voice, though - better than Dilara's at least - and her song is fun if not the most engaging or memorable.

Kat's ESC Discourse S2 E2: I'm Falling Asleep 38 -- Lisa Angell, N'oubliez Pas (France) She has a nice voice but her staging was...strange to say the least and I didn't like the instrumental. Her performance was, as the title states, boring. Most people seem to agree with me on this so I'm just gonna leave it at that. 37 -- John Karayiannis, One Thing I Should Have Done (Cyprus) Now /here's/ an unpopular opinion. It's a sweet song, but I found both his voice and the staging really underwhelming. Again, boring. Look, his lyrics are, for the most part, very sweet and true-sounding, one of the more genuine performances. But the song never went anywhere. I thought the bridge wasn't repetitive in the way he had been trying to achieve. And I also wished he'd done a little more with his staging. At least have some, like, visual effects, and stand up off the stool, or something.

39th – Nika Kocharov and Young Georgian Lolitaz, Midnight Gold (Georgia) It’s a halfway decent song. It’s the sort of music I’d listen to a lot my freshman year of high school. But that staging! The lights, the camera angles. And the trippy thing didn’t work for this the way it did for LoveWave. Oh, and did I mention: THE LIGHTS DURING THE BRIDGE. Daring choice but it reeeeeally didn’t work for me.
