Once again I realise that my Ouat experience has descentisized me so much. The KE fandom is having a breakdown over here about the finale and I'm like "it's 2 minutes, they don't matter, they can easily be ignored" because I have been through worse. Way worse. I had to zone out through entire dialogues and even plotlines to actually watch that trash show coherently.
And at least the KE fandom is united in this experience, they'll mourn together, no one is gonna tell them they don't have the right to. No one is gonna tell them that V is "in a better place now" or that she found "her happy ending". No one is gonna str8 up excuse a suicide storyline. No one is going to pretend that Nico or Anna or Gunn or Helene or Yusuf are the one V or Eve are supposed to be with while ignoring the importance of their own connection. No one is going to hijack their story.
And they have every right to be mad and hurt. I don't feel the same exactly because I've been through worse and that's fucked up to be honest. I had to stay almost a month after Ouat ended in my grief for Rumple's death talking about it only with my GQ mutuals, angry and hurt and disgusted. Imagine KE ending with Nico and Eve being together IN DEATH especially after how many times Nico has shown he doesn't get Eve and they were just not compatible. Imagine Eve staying with him solely because Dasha forked him in the neck and they had wedding bands around their fingers.
Like.... Ouat was trully the trashiest of them all and me having gone through that shitshow makes me take the good where I see it but that also is not quite right, not truly. Because ideally we should critique mediocre to GOOD stories, what the KE fandom is experiencing is normal. Critiquing a good show for poor decisions should be the norm, not diving into a trashcan of a show and trying to find a shiny golden thread to make it into something beautiful because the stench is making your stomach turn but the golden thread is too valuable to not be seen as it was supposed to be.
Guess what overpowers what in end.
