         chocolate  brown  eyes  lock  with  the  other’s  own  irises.   his  eyes  are  tired,   they  have  seen things.   the  happy  twinkle  that  his  eyes  once  carried  had  vanished  long  ago;   now  they  hold  nothing  but  dark  secrets  and  haunting  galaxies  of  moments  he  wished  he’d  never  seen.   thick  brows  furrow  together  and  he  pauses.   the  way  he  got  his  information  didn’t  matter   ----   what  mattered  is  that  he  knows  it  now.   “  that’s  not  important.  ”   his  tone  is  insistent.   a  shake  of  his  head  helps  emphasize  the  statement.   “  what’s  important  is  that  i  know  and  i’m  here  to  help  you.  ”   another  pause.   there’s  empathy  hidden  within  his  expression,   an  emotion  one  could  easily  miss  if  not  paying  attention.   “  so  let  me  help.  ”

                    𝚑𝚒𝚜  𝚖𝚒𝚜𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗  𝚑𝚊𝚍  𝚐𝚘𝚗𝚎  𝚑𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚒𝚋𝚕𝚢  𝚠𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚐  .  assassination  had  been  completed  ,  arguably  one  of  the  easier  ones  he’d  had  to  carry  out  :  but  things  went  south  as  he  attempted  to  return  to  hydra  .  caught  up  with  a  monster  that  seemed  OTHERWORLDLY  ,  not  sure  how  to  handle  it  [  .  .  .  ]  until  keta  found  him  .  &  something  about  her  seemed  to  strike  a  nerve  / / /  reminded  him  that  he’d  been  somebody  entirely  different  before  hydra  fried  him  .  𝑡ℎ𝑒  𝑑𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛  𝑡𝑜  𝑔𝑜  𝑎𝑤𝑜𝑙  𝑤𝑎𝑠𝑛'𝑡  𝑎𝑛  𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑦  𝑜𝑛𝑒  ,  only  came  about  when  his  handler  was  killed  in  the  fight  with  the  DEMON  .  without  any  direction  ,  the  brainwashing  finally  began  to  fade  ,  brought  back  the  feeling  of  being  human  [  .  .  .  ]  &  now  ,  he  stares  at  keta  with  near  empty  eyes  ,  hesitant  to  accept  her  offer  .  ❛  𝐲𝐨𝐮  𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝  𝐛𝐞  𝐢𝐧  𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫  .  ❜  he  doesn’t  want  to  put  her  or  her  unborn  child  at  risk  .

                    𝚋𝚛𝚘𝚠𝚜  𝚏𝚞𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚠  &  𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛𝚜  𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚜𝚎  𝚝𝚘  𝚐𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛𝚕𝚢  𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚜  𝚊𝚝  𝚝𝚑𝚎  𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛  𝚒𝚖𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚌𝚎𝚙𝚝𝚒𝚋𝚕𝚎  𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚛  𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝  𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚜  𝚑𝚒𝚜  𝚌𝚑𝚎𝚎𝚔𝚋𝚘𝚗𝚎  .  forgets  it  even  exists  most  of  the  time  ,  but  the  reminder  of  it  sends  a  chill  down  his  spine  .  it’s  instinctual  to  take  several  steps  back  before  her  own  fingers  can  touch  it  ,  heart  beginning  to  POUND  in  his  chest  / / /  flashes  of  the  torture  hydra  had  put  him  through  ,  the  pain  of  his  face  being  gripped  too  tightly  by  metal  contractions  [  .  .  .  ]  doesn’t  know  how  to  tell  her  the  truth  ,  so  instead  a  LIE  falls  from  his  lips  :  ❛  𝐢  𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭  𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫  .  ❜  BELIEVABLE  ,  at  least  .
