Usually the Master Thief displayed a rather cheerful attitude and that message made the Commander rather concerned.

  “Perhaps it’s a bit of a... low tactic but it gets the job done.” 

Well, we know Ashley likes strong partners, ones with a great ass, ha. But more seriously, she tends to gravitate towards people on equal footing, people who respect her as much as she respects them. She likes people who are energetic, full of life and fight; someone who can match her fiery spirit. 

     “You want to visit, kid, you’d better do it where I can see you. Not a fan of uninvited guests.” The targeting matrix in his false eye wasn’t nearly good enough to see through cloaking tech as top-of-the-line as Kasumi’s, not by a long shot - he couldn’t have said exactly where she was if his life depended on it - but he’d learned to identify that needling ache just under the brow when the thing was trying to provide a firing solution for an object it wasn’t sure was actually there, and process of elimination told him what, or who, that had to be. Didn’t always work, of course - he’d made this exact declaration to a totally empty room twice already since coming aboard for what had turned out to be a run of the mill migraine, but only EDI knew about that, and he was pretty sure she wasn’t telling.
