Tatsuo growled, pulling Kaze back into his arms. “The hell you will,” he snapped, checking his younger twin over to gauge his rising temperature. “Gods above, Kaze, you’re burning up as well! I’m taking you to mother this instant. If he wants to double my training as punishment for defying his will, I’ll happily tell him to go fuck himself.”

No, he wasn’t. The older ninjas could be twins but Kaze would never be his father. Even if he did treat him far better than his old man did. He couldn’t help but to feel a bit hurt by those words tho.

Kaze treated him like an adult, not an insolent child misbehaving in any sort of way. But even so they still clashed from time to time.

Soft footfalls caught the man’s attention, having trained himself to pick up on Volke’s sneaking and skulking. He knew that this couldn’t be the man he’d hired, since he was in a far-off land, and it was not time for Volke to fulfill his contract. He kept walking along the path through the woods, trying to find some landmark of civilization to head towards, but eventually he could no longer resist the feeling of unease and danger that the silent steps imparted upon him. He slid his massive blade from it’s sheath on his back with the hiss of steel on steel, not turning around to face where he believed the sound to be coming from.
