This is a The Right Partner one-shot. Bet you can’t guess what the theme is LOL! I have no excuse as to why I haven’t updated in a while. I wrote this as a way to get back in the groove. Fingers crossed!
“Everyone get ready, it’s almost time!” Mina called out across the noisy room full of their friends. Eijiro who had been talking to Katsuki quickly slipped over to his pink haired girlfriend. Katsuki took another sip from his glass as his gaze settled on a purple haired beauty on the other side of the room, his partner Kia. They had been working together for a few years now.
As more couples joined hands around the room waiting for the count down on the TV Kia moved over to the snack table. Katsuki had become aware of his feelings a while ago but always convinced himself that a relationship with his hero partner would be a bad idea. Besides, he had been busy working his way to the top of the heroes list.
He watched as Kia picked up a strawberry and popped it into her mouth. Her tongue swept across her lips and he felt a tightening in his chest. His earlier conversation with Ejirou replayed in his ears.
*******
“Dude, are you gonna do it?” Eijiro asked.
“Do what?” Katsuki scoffed as he poured himself a glass of whiskey.
“Make a move on Kia,” Eijiro nudged his friend’s arm with his own. “Come on, the only person who doesn’t notice is her.”
“I don’t know what the hell you are talking about,” Katsuki glared before he turned away an took a drink.
“I think you should. What better way to tell a girl you love her with a New Year’s kiss?” Eijiro waggled his eyebrows at his friend.
“Whatever, moron,” Katsuki took another swallow of liquor.
“You scared she doesn’t feel the same?” Eijiro taunted before ducking out of his friend’s reach.
*****
Katsuki shook his head as to get the thought out of his mind. “I’m not fucking scared,” Katsuki muttered to himself. At that moment Kia caught his eye and waved him over to join her. Katsuki paused as he weighed his options, then downed the last of his drink, slammed it down on the table beside him, and walked over to where his partner stood as the count down started.
“B, you gotta try this!” Kia smiled brightly as she held up a snack for him to eat. Katsuki didn’t say anything and just gently grabbed her wrist before taking the treat from her fingers. The blush that coated her cheeks as his lips grazed her fingers sent his heart booming in his chest like a volley of his explosions.
“5!”
“It’s good right?” Kia said breathily.
“4!”
Katsuki didn’t respond as he chewed the spicy treat.
“3!”
“B?” Kia looked at him curiously.
“2!”
Katsuki stepped closer to her, still holding her wrist. “B?” Kia’s eyes widened.
“1!”
At the end of the countdown Katsuki closed the distance between them and cupped the back of her neck as their lips met. It was better than he imagined. Her lips so soft against his, with the light taste of strawberries and the rum she had been drinking. He was so caught up in the feel and taste of her lips that it startled him when her fingers threaded through his hair. His eyes popped open when her lips answered his own; he let go of her wrist and snaked his other arm around her waist. The hand he just released fisted into his shirt as Kia’s lips parted and her tongue ghosted across his lips. Katsuki replied eagerly as he pulled her even closer, slanting his mouth across hers as he deepened their kiss. He couldn’t hear anything but his heart pounding in his ears. All too soon their kiss ended leaving them panting.
“I’ve been wanting to do that forever,” Kia whispered. Katsuki’s eyes flicked to meet hers and he was pleased to find a small smirk across her lips.
He couldn’t help but grin back at her. “Tch, is that so?” He raised a brow at her causing her to chuckle at him.
“Yeah,” Kia admitted as she smiled.
Katsuki gently ran his thumb across her cheek before leaning in for another kiss. This time she met him halfway. A sharp whistle and some cat calls made them aware of their audience.
“It’s about time!” Someone called out.
“Congrats guys!” Uraraka gave them a thumbs up.
“I see you took my advice!” Eijiro laughed as Mina clapped next to him.
“Go to hell!” Katsuki smirked while Kia laughed in his arms.
“So…” Kia drew his attention back to her. “Just to clarify, this means?” She gave him a questioning look.
“You’re mine now,” he replied boldly as he tilted her chin upwards.
Challenge flashed in her eyes as he felt her heart pound against his chest. “You sure you are ready for that?” she challenged.
“Abso-fucking-lutly,” he replied before capturing her lips in another kiss.

Baku/Deku Friendship Short Story
ANGST, bullying,
Enjoy!
“You know it freaks people out when you mutter to yourself like that,” Katsuki growled, snapping Izuku out of his intense focus.
“Y-yeah, I know, sorry. I don’t even realize I am doing it half the time. It helps me focus,” the green hair boy muttered, his cheeks pink from embarrassment.
“Don’t be such a loser, Deku,” The blonde scoffed as he picked up his backpack. “Those morons in the Junior class wouldn’t pick on you so much if you grew some balls.”
“Yeah…” Izuku hung his head even lower.
“Damn it! Pull yourself together you idiot! Tch, if you hang your head it just makes you easier to beat down.” Katsuki made his way to the door and slammed it opened. “I’m heading to practice, don’t get beat up on your way home, got it!” With that he slammed the door shut behind him.
“Yeah…” Izuku sighed before gathering his things and stowing them in his backpack. Quickly he made his way down to the lockers, put on his street shoes and headed home.
“Kacchan is right,” Izuku thought as he walked. “I really do need to learn to stand up for myself. He has spent so much time showing me how to defend myself. Why do I always freeze up?!” Izuku groaned in frustration as he stared at the sidewalk in front of him.
“Hey, worthless!”
Izuku froze at the sound of his tormentor’s voice behind him. Turning around he saw the three boys from the junior class that always picked on him.
“Almost missed you today,” the head bully sneered as he sauntered over to Izuku and put an arm around his shoulders. “Thought you could get out of paying the toll, huh?”
“No, I-I I didn’t,” Izuku whimpered as the bully pulled him in closer.
“Well then what are you waiting for?” The bully shoved him forward, knocking him to the ground.
“I didn’t forget, I just don’t have any money,” Izuku grimaced at the pain in his knees.
“What was that?!” His tormentor demanded. The bully strode over and grabbed he green haired youth by the collar. “You don’t have the money? Guess you’ll have to pay the penalty then,” he sneered. “Grab his arms and take his bag.” The leader ordered his lackeys.
“No! Don’t!” Izuku begged as he struggled against the two who grabbed him.
“Shut it nerd,” One of the bullies said as he tore off Izuku’s backpack. “Here you go boss!” he said as he tossed it to their leader.
“Let’s see if he is telling the truth,” the bully sneered as he opened the bag and dumped the contents onto the street. Izuku’s things scattered all over the cement, including his phone, wallet and a watch that Katsuki had given him when they were little.
“Guess we will have to make do with your phone and wallet. Someone might buy this garbage,” the bully laughed as he picked up the phone and wallet. His movements knocked Izuku’s things around revealing the watch. “What is this?”
“No! That was given to me by my best friend, it’s important to me!” Izuku struggled against his captors as the leader picked up the watch.
The bully turned the watch over in his hand as he glared at Izuku. “Who the hell you think you are telling me what to do. I wasn’t going to bother with this piece of junk but now I think I’ll hack it just to teach you a lesson,” he laughed.
“No…” Izuku whined.
“FIGHT DAMN YOU!!”
Startled Izuku looked over his shoulder to see his friend Katsuki standing there with his fists clenched.
“Are you really going to take this bullshit! I thought I told you to grow some balls! Punch that loser in the face and take back what is yours!”
“I know but I’m not as strong as you are Kacchan,” Izuku cried.
“What the hell is wrong with this loser,” one of the bullies snorted.
“DAMN IT!” Katsuki ran up to stand in front of his friend. “Are you going to just be a pushover your whole life? I can’t always be there to save your sorry ass!”
“I know you can’t be here but….” Izuku sobbed, pulling against his bullies.
“This freak is starting to go mad,” laughed the bully. “I think it’s about time to shut him up.” With that the leader raised a fist and punched Izuku across the face. The other two bullies laughed as they held him in place. Soon that blow was followed by another, then the bully kneed him in the stomach knocking the air from his lungs and causing Izuku to drop to his knees.
“Come on Deku, are you just going to give up?” Katsuki asked while Izuku gasped for air. “Is this how you want to live your life. I thought you wanted to be like me?”
“I d-do,” Izuku wheezed, tears flowing from his eyes.
“Then GET UP!” Katsuki demanded.
Izuku took a deep breath as his best friend’s words hit him to the core.
“You do?” the bully leered, “Do you hear this loser? You do what? There is nothing you can do except snivel on the ground like the coward you are.” The bully took a step closer and bent down to whisper in Izuku’s ear. “A coward just like your friend.”
At the bully’s words something inside Izuku snapped. “Take that back.”
“Make me.”
With crazy speed Izuku lunged, smashing his head into the bully’s face. The guy howled as he covered his now broken nose, falling backwards onto the sidewalk. With out hesitating Izuku jerked his right arm down and forward breaking the other bully’s grasp and punching the third one in the face. Both bullies let go as Izuku’s sudden retaliation took them by surprise.
“What the hell!” The lead bully exclaimed from his spot on the ground.
“I SAID TAKE IT BACK, DAMN IT!” Izuku hollered lunging forward and grabbing the bully by the collar.
“Let go of me you freak!” the bully demanded as he tried to break Izuku’s grasp. When that failed the bully tried fighting back but Izuku grabbed his wrist twisting it into a holding lock as he pinned the boy’s arm behind his back. The other two bullies got back to their feet and rushed him but Izuku was ready. He shoved the head bully into his friend knocking them both to the ground before taking out the third with a spinning kick.
With all three bullies laying in a heap on the ground Izuku hollered his demand again. “Kacchan was never a coward! He was strong and confident! It’s you guys that are the cowards! Picking on people you think are weaker than you. Kacchan would have stood up to you and won!” Izuku’s chest heaved with the force of his anger. “Say what you want about me, but don’t you say that about my friend!”
The three bullies stared at him in disbelieve. “Whatever loser, you’re just a freak that talks to himself all the time. We’re out of here!” With that the three of them pulled themselves and ran in the other direction hurling curses back at him.
Izuku’s shoulders sagged as the bullies disappeared around the corner. Slowly he picked up his watch the bully had dropped when he headbutted him.
“Tch, serves those losers right,” Katsuki laughed.
Izuku began collecting his thing off the ground and putting them back in his bag. Tears rolled down his cheeks.
“Stop crying you moron,” Katsuki said as he crouched next to his friend. “People are gonna think you’re a bigger weirdo than they already do.”
“Kacchan, I really just won that fight, didn’t I?” Izuku asked.
“Damn right you did,” Katsuki smiled. “Those losers are gonna think twice about messing with you Deku. Guess you don’t need me hanging around anymore.”
“What?!” Izuku’s head snapped up to look at his friend but there was no one there. He continued to stare at the empty space, grief etched into his face. With a sob he clenched the watch in his fist and bowed his head.
” That’s right, he isn’t here,” Izuku thought as the tears flowed freely down his face. Katsuki had always been determined and confident. No matter what he did he always won. About a month before school started the two of them were walking down the street when a kid walked out in front of a car. Kacchan acted so quickly; he was able to reach the kid in time. It was a race he both won and lost.
“I did it Kacchan. I won, just like you would have.” A smile broke out across Izuku’s face as he wiped his eyes and grabbed his bag. Standing up Izuku held his head high with pride as he made his way home.
“Natsu! It’s time to get up!” Lucy said, shaking the dragon slayer, who was fast asleep in her bed. They were supposed to get up early for a mission today. The client wanted to meet them at 6:00am in the next town over. Lucy tried shaking her pink haired partner awake again. “Natsu! Urgh!” Lucy exclaimed when he still didn’t wake up.
Frustrated, she sat on the bed next to him, and looked down on the sleeping man. He was lying on his back and had ditched his vest and scarf sometime during the night. His chest rose, up and down with each deep breath. She admired the contour of his chest and abs, and all the hard muscles that lay under his soft looking skin.
She reached out with a finger, and gently traced the line between his pecks and down his six-pack to his belly button. Natsu’s muscles contracted under her touch but the dragon slayer remained asleep. Lucy continued her ministrations, growing bolder as she ran her fingertips over each muscle. Moving her palm up over his chest she leaned forward on her other hand, her fingers caressing his collar bone. Moving closer, she continued to run her finger up his neck to his jaw, then down to his chin. He really is handsome, Lucy thought, not noticing how Natsu’s breath hitched. Her gaze fell to the scar on the right side of his neck, and she ran a finger along the smooth skin. Natsu twitched, surprising her, and she pulled her hand back. His eyes, whoever, remain closed and she decided to continue. She placed her hand on his chest right over his heart. She could feel his heartbeat, strong and steady. “What am I doing?” she asked herself out loud. She started pulling her hand away from him when his voice startled her.
“Don’t stop,” Natsu said in a low voice. With a gasp, her eyes snapped up to look at his which were open and staring at her. He propped himself up on one elbow and brought his other hand to her cheek, brushing her hair behind her ear. “Don’t stop,” he said, running his thumb over her cheek.
“I-I thought you were asleep!” Lucy stammered.
“It’s kinda hard to sleep when you are tickling me like that, weirdo,” Natsu snorted.
“Well, we better get going if we want to make it on time!” Lucy said, blushing furiously. She started to move off the bed but Natsu grabbed her hand and placed it back on his chest.
“Don’t stop, it feels good,” he said, a slight blush coating his cheeks. He lay back down on the bed, pulling Lucy alongside him. The blonde’s face was completely red but she didn’t move her hand from his chest. Natsu grinned at her and she couldn’t help but smile back. Using a fingertip, she proceeded to trace stars across his chest. When she got to his heart she paused before drawing a heart on his skin. Natsu mummed in response, closing his eyes, and Lucy took the opportunity to lean down and kiss his chest.
Natsu sucked in a breath, his eyes snapping open and going wide when he realized what she was doing. Lucy grinned at his expression and placed another kiss right next to the first one. Natsu gulped, but didn’t say anything as he watched her. Feeling bold, Lucy started planting kisses along his body. “Does it feel good?” she asked him.
Natsu nodded and started trailing his hand up and down her back. Chills ran up Lucy’s spine at his touch. As she made her way back up to his neck, Natsu became more confident. He teased the exposed skin just under her shirt. When Lucy reached his neck she nipped at his scar. Natsu growled deep in his throat. “Don’t move,” Lucy warned before she kissed the same spot. She kissed up his neck and along his jaw, moving over top of him as she did so. Natsu’s hand fisted at her waist as he tried to do as she said a stay still.
Planting one last kiss on his jaw she pulled back enough so she could look him in the eyes. She started to lean in to kiss him but stopped, her confidence faltering. That wasn’t good enough for Natsu and he grabbed her hips, rolling them over so that he was on top.
“You’re playing with fire, Luce,” he teased. He trailed one hand over her hip and up her side, brushing over her breast before trailing his fingers up her neck and cupping her cheek. He leaned in close enough that their noses brushed. Heat pooled in Lucy’s belly when she saw the fire in his eyes. Natsu tilted his head, moving in to kiss her lips. Lucy closed her eyes, tilting her mouth up to meet his.
“Hey, guys! We better get going!” Happy yelled as he flew in the window. “Oooo he looves her!” he purred when he caught them together.
“Stupid cat!” Lucy yelled, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at him. She hit him square on, knocking the blue Exceed out the window.
This was inspired by the latest chapters of FT 100 Years Quest. Me and my friend @doginshoe where talking about how we wanted more development for Jerza and I decided to write a little something! Enjoy!
“Jellal! Please snap out of it!” Erza pleaded as she parried his strikes. The last thing she wanted to do was fight Jellal but with him under the White Witch’s influence she didn’t have much choice. The way he was acting wasn’t making it any easier. How was she supposed to fight him while he was in his underwear?!
“Trust me Erza, come to me and you will understand,” Jellal said as he jumped back and held his hand out to her.
Erza’s cheeks turned the color of her hair at Jellal’s actions. I can’t keep wasting time! I have to find a way to break the White Witch’s hold on him, but how? Erza thought to herself as she charged him.
They locked blades once again and he surprised her when he reached out and gently grabbed her long pony tail. He let some of the crimson strands fall through his fingers as brought them to his lips. “So beautiful,” he muttered as he smiled as her.
Erza’s heart beat wildly in her chest. He made it hard to think straight. “What has gotten into you?” she asked.
“Isn’t it obvious?” He replied and took a step closer to her.
Erza panicked and moved away, unsure about what his next move would be. He wasn’t attacking her seriously and she couldn’t deny that she too was holding back. The thought of harming him made her chest hurt. Their relationship had been on the mend since his pardon, but he had such a hard time seeing past his guilt; she didn’t want him to add one more thing to the list. “Jellal, please, I don’t want to do this!” she pleaded, but Jellal just attacked.
She fought him off, neither one of them gained any ground as their fight dragged on. The whole time Jellal continued to say things that made her blush and her heart race. It made it so hard to think about anything but how she felt about him. Wait! Could that be the answer? Will it be enough? Erza’s heart threatened to break out of her chest as she contemplated a new idea. “There is only one way to find out,” she muttered as she found her resolve.
Rushing in Erza readied to attack. Jellal took a defensive stance with his blade held in one hand. Erza swung her own sword and caught Jellal’s near the hilt causing him to drop it. Her sword disappeared as she knocked his other hand away. Jellal’s eyes widened when Erza stepped into him. She grabbed his face between her hands and brought his lips to her own. This wasn’t how she imagined their first kiss but god it felt good. She moved one hand into his hair pulling him even closer as she tried to pour all her love for him into one kiss. Just when she thought it wasn’t enough his arms wrapped around her and pressed their bodies together even more. He returned the kiss, slanting his mouth over hers as his tongue asked for entrance.
Erza parted her lips and he took full advantage. His tongue slid against hers as they battled for control of the kiss. Erza’s body was on fire; her heartbeat wild. It was amazing, the way he tasted, the way he felt against her, it was better than she imagined.
Too soon he broke the kiss. Both of them panting from lack of oxygen while he rested his forehead against hers. “You freed me,” Jellal said between gasps. “Thank you.”
“Y-yeah,” Erza stammered as he looked into her eyes. She was pretty sure that she would have collapsed if it wasn’t for his arms around her.
Jellal reached up with one hand and cupped the side of her face before leaning in a placing a soft kiss on her lips.
“We need to stop the Witch,” Erza muttered.
“You’re right,” Jellal said as he pulled away. “Let’s stop her together.” He reached down, grabbed her hand and laced their fingers together. “Once we are finished we can continue where we left off.” He grinned as he kissed her knuckles.
“I’d like that, but maybe you should find some pants first.”
The next morning Kia walked to work with Bakugou, stopping by their regular coffee shop before heading to the agency. He couldn’t help but notice that the tired look in her eyes had lessened somewhat. The whole day passed by fast. They patrolled together and found themselves busy stopping petty crimes throughout the day. That night Kia came over while Bakugou cooked dinner and they stayed up talking about their different experiences fighting villains. As Kia left for the night she agreed to go get coffee with him again in the morning.
Bakugou woke up the next morning and ate a quick breakfast before heading out. He opened the front door and was surprised to see Kia standing there waiting for him. Her long hair lay down her back and she had on a loose fitting shirt with half sleeves. He also noticed the black wrist bands that were always around her wrists and the red feather that lay on her chest, exposed by the low cut neck line of her shirt. His heart thumped in his chest when she flashed him a big smile.
“Ready to go?” she asked.
Bakugou didn’t say anything as he closed his door behind him and made his way to the elevator. Kia fell into step beside him and they exited the building together. It was a beautiful summer day as they walked to the coffee shop. They got in line and waited to order while Kia looked at flyers pinned up on the board next to the counter.
“Hey, it looks like there is a summer festival this weekend!” Kia said pointing the flyer out to Bakugou.
“So? Who would want to go to one of those? They are noisy, crowded and there will be a bunch of brats running around.” Bakugou growled irritated at how slow the line was going.
“I thought it might be fun. Besides I’ve never been to one.” Kia pouted crossing her arms.
After getting their coffee they headed to the agency. Nina watched them as they walked across the foyer to the elevators. A small smile appeared on her face when she saw them arguing. Those two seem closer than ever. Nina internally squealed. She wished she could find a way to get more details on their impromptu sleep over.
When they got to their office Kia moved behind her desk. “Do you want to get in a quick workout this morning?” she asked him while she turned on her computer, “I’ve been really bad about sticking to my usual routine since I got here.”
“Sure” Bakugou replied sitting down in his chair.
“Oh and don’t forget I’m taking off before 5 today.” Kia said.
“What the hell for?” Bakugou asked looking up at her.
“It’s Friday, I’m going out with Eijiro remember?” She reminded him.
“Tch, fine, go have fun with weird hair.” Bakugou huffed turning back to his computer.
“Come on you grouch.” Kia said walking over and tugging on his hair, “Let’s head to the gym.”
Bakugou got up from his desk and followed Kia to the locker rooms. They met up at the warm up mat and started stretching. Bakugou glanced over at Kia as she stretched out her legs. “So where is he taking you?” he asked suddenly.
Kia looked at him surprised, “I thought you didn’t care?” She teased.
“Go to hell! Of course I don’t!” Bakugou snapped turning away.
“Tokyo Tower” Kia continued, “He said it has a pretty good view and there is an aquarium and a restaurant inside. You sure you don’t want to come?”
“Hell no.” Bakugou growled. Kia rolled her eyes.
After stretching they made their way over to the treadmills. “How long do we want to take this morning?” Kia asked him.
“Usually I work out at least one hour a day but our schedule has been crazy lately.” Bakugou said starting the machine.
“We could start coming in early if you don’t mind the company.” Kia offered.
“Fine, as long as you aren’t noisy.” Bakugou said turning up the speed on his treadmill.
Kia started her treadmill and sped it up to match Bakugou’s speed. After 20 minutes they moved to the weights. They separated as they did their individual weight routines. Bakugou moved to the bench press and loaded up the bar. Lying down on the bench he lifted the heavy bar from its holder and started his reps.
Kia watched as her partner bench pressed a considerable amount of weight. She couldn’t help but admire the way his muscles flexed under his skin giving him even more definition. His tight tank top didn’t leave much to the imagination as to what lay underneath. Bakugou finished his set and set the bar back on the holder then got up to add more weight to it. Kia realized she was standing there ogling her partner. Mentally slapping herself she turned back to her own workout.
Bakugou paused to get a drink from his water bottle and looked over to where Kia was. She had turned her back to him and was currently bent over to pick up a couple of weights she had set on the floor. Her tight pants showed off her long legs and hugged her firm ass in a way that would make any man drool. He found himself wondering what those long legs would look like if she wore shorts.
Taking another drink from his water bottle he laid back down to do his next set. Kia had finished with her weights and was putting them back on the rack when she glanced over at Bakugou again. She noticed he had a lot of weight on the bar. While watching to see if he might need a spotter she found herself staring again. Bakugou’s shirt had ridden up while he lifted giving her a delicious view of his abs. Kia couldn’t deny it, her partner was hot. Bakugou finished his set and sat up grabbing the bottom of his shirt and using it to wipe his face. As he went to put his shirt back down he caught Kia staring.
“Getting a good look Sunshine?” He smirked.
“Please, I was watching to see if you needed a spotter.” Kia replied trying to cover up the fact that she had indeed been staring.
“Trust me Sunshine I don’t need one.” Bakugou said as he stood up and pulled his shirt off before tossing it to the side. He turned to add more weight to the bar.
Kia couldn’t help but smile, for some reason she found his cockiness charming. She watched as he lifted the heavy weights enjoying the unshielded view. I better knock it off or I’m going to be in trouble. Kia thought to herself.
She walked up to the bench as Bakugou lay back down and lifted the bar again. He had done about three reps when Kia stepped up next to him. Placing her hands on the bar next to his she leaned into it a little. “You sure you don’t need a spotter.” She asked leaning on the bar a little more.
Bakugou smirked as he brought the bar back down with Kia still leaning on it, bringing them nose-to-nose. “I’m sure Sunshine.” He replied as he pushed the bar back up.
Laughing Kia got off and went back to her own workout. Setting up a bench for herself she started loading weight onto the bar. She had gone through her bench press and was setting up to start squat lifts when a group of female heroes walked into the gym. Bakugou was still lifting and hadn’t put his shirt back on, which attracted the gaze of the ladies who had just walked in.
Giggling the group went over to the treadmills and picked out ones that faced the benches. As Kia did her sets she could see the heroines eyeing her partner who was oblivious to their gaze. A dark burning feeling she had never felt before erupted in Kia’s chest as she watched them giggling and whispering about Bakugou.
She tried shoving the feeling down but it surfaced again when one of the women got off her treadmill and made her way over to him. Kia could feel her fangs elongate and her skin tingled as her scales threatened to break out.
“Ground Zero?” the woman said sauntering up to Bakugou. She was wearing a pair of short shorts and a sports bra. Bakugou turned around glaring and raising an eyebrow at the woman. “I’m Chouko. It is a pleasure to meet you.” she said batting her eyelashes.
“Bug off I’m not interested.” Bakugou said turning back to his bench.
“But we have hardly even talked.” Chouko gasped taken back by his bluntness.
“Doesn’t matter,” Bakugou replied sitting on his bench and picking up a weight.
Kia set her bar back on its holder and picked up her water bottle. Leaning against the framework of her bench, she watched the exchange. Her dragon side practically purred in delight when she heard Bakugou reject the woman.
“You won’t even give me a chance?” Chouko asked him. When Bakugou ignored her she moved in front of him. Putting her hands on her knees she bent over pushing her chest out with her arms. “I promise I will show you a good time,” she said giving him a wink.
At that, Kia felt the dark emotion explode in her chest. Grabbing her water bottle, she started walking over to Bakugou’s bench, grabbing his discarded shirt along the way. By the time she got to the bench Chouko had sat down next to Bakugou and was rubbing her boobs against his arm to try to draw his attention. Bakugou, however, was looking at his partner.
“Come on handsome; just go out with me once please?” Chouko said giving him big puppy dog eyes. Her attempts were cut short when Kia squirted her water bottle in her face.
“What the hell was that?” Chouko screeched standing up.
“Go take a cold shower already. He said no,” Kia replied, throwing Bakugou’s shirt in his face. “Geeze B put your shirt back on before you distract someone else,” she told him. Sputtering, Chouko stomped off back toward her friends giving Kia a fierce glare as she left. “What is with you and attracting pushy women?” Kia asked giving Bakugou an exasperated look.
“I can’t help it if I’m fucking sexy,” Bakugou grinned. Kia grabbed his shirt and shoved it over his head.
“Yeah let them spend five minutes with you. You’ll send them running.” Kia snorted taking a drink from her water bottle.
“Usually I have them screaming before that.” Bakugou remarked.
Kia nearly choked as she realized what he had said, “I’m surprised you are so versed in that area. As focused as you are on being a hero I didn’t think you realized what a woman was,” she chided.
“Trust me Sunshine I recognize a good woman when I see her,” he replied. Kia didn’t recognize the heated look in his eyes.
Feeling the blood rush to her cheeks Kia turned around and headed back to her bench. “I’m going to finish up and head back to the office. How much longer are you going to be?” Kia asked changing the subject.
“Not much longer. I will meet you there,” Bakugou said watching her walk away. He knew he probably shouldn’t mess with her, but he liked seeing Sunshine flustered.
%%%%%
Kia walked back to the office running her hands through her wet hair as she went. When she got to the door she opened it to see Bakugou already filling out paperwork from the day before. He looked up as she walked in. “I sent a couple forms for you to finish filling out.” He said.
“Alright, how many do we have left to do?” Kia asked sitting down at her desk. She opened up her email then started running her hands through her hair again as she waited for it to load.
“Why didn’t you do that in the locker room?” Bakugou asked.
“Hey, I have a lot of hair! Besides I can’t stand sitting in there listening to all of them giggling like a bunch of school girls.” Kia explained.
Sighing Bakugou got up from his desk and moved over behind her. “You’re taking too damn long.” He said as he started drying her hair. Kia closed her eyes and let her head fall back against her chair humming as Bakugou’s fingers stroked her hair. After a couple minutes Bakugou finished and went back to his own desk. Pulling her hair over her shoulder Kia started tying it in a braid. She stopped when a sweet scent hit her nose. Lifting her hair to her face she inhaled deeply recognizing the sweet smell. Her hair smelled just like his quirk, a sweet smell that reminded her of brown sugar and caramel.
After they finished up their paperwork they suited up and headed out on patrol down the street where the Kawahara’s store was. The old couple were outside when they came walking up.
“Hey, Mr. & Mrs. Kawahara!” Kia called out as they walked up to the store.
“It’s been awhile. How have you been?” Mr. Kawahara asked.
“Did you get settled into your new apartment all right?” Mrs. Kawahara asked.
“Sure did and the funny thing is it turns out Ground Zero and I are neighbors.” Kia replied with a smile.
“Oh really?” Mrs. Kawahara grinned.
“There is nothing like having a beautiful neighbor, ‘ey, Ground Zero?” Mr. Kawahara said.
“Shut up old man.” Bakugou replied.
“It actually hasn’t been too bad…” Kia said. Then turning to Mrs. Kawahara she whispered, “turns out he is a pretty good cook.”
“My dear I thought you said you are neighbors but it sounds like you are roommates!” Mrs. Kawahara exclaimed.
“No just neighbors. Our balconies are connected though so it is easy to walk over and visit.” Kia replied.
“Come on Sunshine we need to get going.” Bakugou growled.
“Oh yeah I don’t want to be late for my date.” Kia smiled.
“Date? You two are going on a date?” Mr. Kawahara asked.
“No I’m going on a date with one of his friends.” Kia clarified.
Mr. Kawahara walked up to Bakugou and put a hand on his shoulder, “Tough break kid…” he muttered.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Bakugou snarled.
“Nothing, nothing,” Mr. Kawahara replied.
“Well we will see you both another time,” Mrs. Kawahara said waving them both off. The two watched as the heroes walked off continuing their patrol. “Those two haven’t got the slightest clue do they?” she asked her husband.
“That boy is bursting with jealousy. I wonder how long it will take him to figure out why,” Mr. Kawahara wondered putting an arm around his wife, “Hopefully he won’t take too long.”
“I thought you said that a good woman was worth the wait?” Mrs. Kawahara smiled at her husband.
“They sure are my dear,” he replied kissing her on the forehead.

Bakugou and Kia got back to the agency at four o’clock. They had taken care of a few small time thieves and had the paperwork finished in twenty minutes.
“Eijiro is going to pick me up at my apartment at five so I’m going to head out, okay? See ya later B!” Kia said as she gathered her things and left.
After another ten minutes Bakugou decided to call it a night and headed home. When he stepped out of the apartment complex’s elevator he saw Kirishima knocking on Kia’s door. Spotting him Kirishima called out, “Hey man how’s it going?”
“Tch,” Bakugou said as he headed for his own door. He had just stuck the key in the lock when Kia emerged from her apartment. She had on a tight pair of dark jeans and black boots that came up almost to her knees. The dark red shirt she was wearing had a plunging neckline that laced up and she wore a black jacket over top of it. Her hair was pulled up in a side pony and was still wavy from being in a braid all day. Now it was Bakugou’s turn to stare.
“Wow Kia you look great!” Kirishima whistled.
“Thanks!” Kia smiled. Turning to Bakugou she noticed him staring, “Getting a good look B?” she teased.
Bakugou’s thoughts jerked back to reality and he glared at Kia. Saying nothing he opened his door and stepped into his apartment slamming it behind him.
Sighing Kia turned back to Kirishima who offered her an arm. “Alright sir you lead the way,” Kia said taking his arm.

Inside his apartment Bakugou stood in his entry way breathing hard. He was so pissed and he didn’t even fucking know why which only made him madder. Goddamn Kia why did she have to invite Kirishima out? Bakugou growled internally. Taking his shoes off, he threw his keys on the counter then stomped to his room pulling his shirt over his head as he went. He threw the shirt into his dirty clothes basket and walked over to his dresser. Ripping open a drawer he grabbed a nice pair of pants before pulling a shirt out of his closet. Stomping to the bathroom he cleaned up and put on the fresh clothes. Then he grabbed his keys and a hat and jacket before pulling on his red and black boots. Slamming his front door closed he made for the elevator. He mashed the down button a stood there fidgeting as he waited for the doors to open. Once the elevator arrived he stepped on hitting the button for the ground floor.
He was restless as he waited for the elevator to finish its decent. When the doors opened he pulled the hat down low on his head and shrugged the jacket on. Exiting the front doors he made his way towards the nearest train station. When he arrived it didn’t take him long to pick Kia out of the crowd. She stood next to Kirishima waiting for the next train to take them to Tokyo Tower. Marching to the nearest window Bakugou bought a ticket and stood a ways off watching the two of them.
Kia was laughing at something Kirishima said when her head jerked up slightly. Bakugou ducked behind a pillar as she looked around the platform.
“What is it?” Kirishima asked.
“It’s nothing I just thought I smelled something familiar.” she replied. She grabbed her hair and brought it to her face giving it a sniff. She could still smell Bakugou’s quirk. It was probably just my hair, she thought to herself.
“Hey, the train is here,” Kirishima pointed out. As they boarded the train Bakugou got on the car two cars down, making sure to keep them in sight. He watched as they stood there talking, cursing that he could not hear their conversation.
All too soon the trains stopped and they got off heading for the tower. Bakugou did his best to keep his distance and not lose track of them.
“So what do you want to do first?” Kirishima asked Kia.
“I’m starving, how about we eat first?” Kia replied.
They made their way to the restaurant and had a short wait before they could get a table. They took a couple of seats in the waiting area.
“Thanks for taking me out. I hope that I haven’t caused you any trouble. I didn’t even think to ask if there was a special someone in your life.” Kia said.
“That’s alright. I don’t have a girlfriend, so no problems there.” Kirishima grinned.
“Really? I find that hard to believe.” Kia said.
Kirishima blushed, “Well, being a hero is a lot of work. You don’t have much time to do things like go on a date.”
“Yeah being a hero is definitely time consuming.” Kia laughed, “I really appreciate you taking the time to show me around.”
“How come you didn’t ask Bakugou?” Kirishima asked.
“B? He really doesn’t seem the type to do things like this. Besides I totally want your scoop on all the embarrassing stuff he did in high school. I need some dirt to use against him. That and I want to be friends. A nice guy like you seems to be a good choice especially if you can stand being around Bakugou.” Kia replied.
“Well I don’t have a ton of dirt on Bakugou. Back in high school he was even angrier than he is now. At first I thought the guy was a total jerk but the more I hung out with him the more I realized what he was really like.” Kirishima said leaning back against his chair.
“I know what you mean. He doesn’t exactly make a good first impression.” Kia laughed. “I do believe the first time I met him he said something about not wanting to babysit some girly wannabe.”
“Yep, that’s Bakugou for you.” Kirishima sighed, “The whole class didn’t think much of him. Except that he was really talented.”
Just then the hostess came over letting them know their table was ready and the two stood up following her into the restaurant.
Bakugou stepped out from where he had been hiding. He had been able to hear everything they said. The hostess returned and he walked up to the podium. “Give me a table where I can keep an eye on the two you just seated but they can’t see me.” Bakugou demanded.
“I could put you at the bar if you would like.” the hostess suggested.
“Good enough.” Bakugou growled before following the hostess to his seat.

I’m writing this for @thewritingstar and @sobatsu Fictober prompt, Day one: Candy.
Rating: Teen
Kagome hummed happily as she twisted a chocolate from its wrapper and popped it into her mouth. The sweet taste and creamy texture made her smile.
“What is that?” Inuyasha asked from his position on the other side of their campfire.
“Candy,” Kagome replied as she searched through her bag for another one.
Inuyasha’s ears twitch with curiosity as he watched the young woman pull out two more of the strangely wrapped things. “What in the world is candy?” he scoffed.
“Just little pieces of heaven,” Kagome replied as she unwrapped another candy and ate it.
“If it is so great than why don’t you share?” he growled.
“No way, you already went through my bag and ate most of my food!” Kagome pointed a finger at him with a scowl. “I’m gonna enjoy these.” She unwrapped the last candy.
Inuyasha jumped over the fire and landed beside her. “That isn’t fair! Come on hand it over!” He held out a clawed hand.
“Nope!” Kagome leaned away as she popped the last chocolate in her mouth. “Besides, chocolate is bad for dogs!” she said closing her eyes with a smirk.
With a growl Inuyasha lunged forward and grabbed the back of Kagome’s head. Before she even realized what happened his mouth was on hers. Her eyes flew open as she gasped in surprise and his tongue slipped into her mouth and moved along her own. His fangs pricked against her lips and caused her to moan and close her eyes again. She had just started working her tongue against his when he pulled away.
“W-wait… why?” Kagome started to say as her eyes fluttered open. All she saw was a smirking demon sitting in front of her triumphantly with her candy between his teeth. Her fist clenched as he closed his mouth and slowly chewed his trophy.
“Your brain must be busted. This tastes alright but I wouldn’t call it heaven,” Inuyasha scoffed as he swallowed the candy. He looked over to see a livid Kagome glaring at him. “What?”
To him she was beautiful. Others might say that she was to plain or that her skin was flawed and her face too round. He liked that she had a curvier figure and a few scars. To him there were things that mattered more than just looks. She carried herself with a confidence that he found entrancing. She knew what she wanted and never hesitated to work for it. She was smart and could more than hold her own in a battle of wits. When she laughed everyone in the room could hear her and he couldn’t help but smile at the joyful sound. The one thing that drew him in deeper than anything else was her eyes, the deep color sucked him in and the life that sparkled there spoke to him as if to say. “Catch me if you can...”
Princess… Hak thought as he watched Yona walk away. He wanted nothing more than to talk to her but he was still in shock. He never believed that he would hear those words come from her lips. What did she mean? She loved him, but what kind of love is it? Does she love him like a brother, a friend, or a lover? He had given up hope long ago that she would ever return his feelings. Besides, he was just a low born orphan that was lucky enough to get adopted by the head of the wind clan. He had no right to expect more. He was content to just see her happy. At least…that is what he told himself.
Later that evening he sat around the fire eating and drinking along with the rest of the Happy Hungry Bunch. They guys were getting rowdy when Hak decided to go and get some air. Standing up he told the others he would be right back and headed out of the fire light. His wounds still hurt from the battle but he wasn’t going to let the others see.
He soon found himself on the edge of the camp. The moon was high and shining bright, leaving everything bathed in a silvery glow. He closed his eyes and breathed deep, wincing a little at the ache in his side. As he stood there he heard the familiar tread of small feet.
“Princess, did you need something?” he asked without turning around.
“How are you feeling?” Yona asked as she walked up beside him.
“I’m fine, how is your throat?”
“It is much better.”
Hak smiled softly as he looked down at her. Even in the dim light he could see the blush on her cheeks and it was doing weird things to his heart. They stood there for a while in silence before Yona spoke up again.
“Y-you said that you wanted to hear more. What did you mean?” she asked.
Surprised Hak looked away as he ran a hand through his hair. “Why don’t we find somewhere to sit? You must be getting tired?”
“Ok…” Yona replied timidly.
They moved a little ways away to a patch of grass that hadn’t been trodden on. They both sat down and looked up at the full moon. Yona glanced over at Hak, the moonlight reflected in his eyes making the deep blue glint in the darkness. He really was handsome, how had she never seen it before. He turned and caught her staring, Yona tuned away embarrassed.
“So, you want to talk?” Hak sighed.
“Yes,” Yona said as she took a deep breath and faced him. She had wanted so badly to tell him how she felt. There was no way she was backing down now. “When I told you how I felt… you didn’t seem very excited about it.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well when someone tells you they love you aren’t you supposed to be, you know, happy?” Yona blurted out.
Hak’s eyes widened with surprise. “I am happy.”
“Then what did you mean by you wanted to hear more?” Yona was leaning towards him, the eagerness in her eyes burned.
“I’m not sure what you meant when you said you love me,” Hak admitted. His heart was pounding, did he dare hope that she feels the same way he does.
Confusion filled Yona’s eyes. “What else could it mean?”
Hak sighed as he tried to find the words. “Well, do you love me like a brother or a friend? You are the Princess and I am just a servant. Is it the love of a Princess for her protector? I don’t want to get my hopes up before I completely understand.”
“You want to know in what way I love you,” Yona said softly.
“We have known each other for a long time, Princess.” He ran his hand nervously through his hair as he tried to find the words. “We became friends when we were young and then your father asked me to be your protector. Even back then I think I already loved you.” He smiled softly and shook his head. “I decided that I would be there for you, even if it meant watching you love someone else, just as long as you were happy. I had made peace with that, and now you are telling me that you love me!” He paused to calm the emotion raging within him. “Can’t you see how dangerous it would be for me to get my hopes up now?”
Yona’s heart was doing back flips in her chest. He has loved me this whole time, and all I ever did was throw things at him and talk about So Won. She could understand his hesitation now. Before she was so caught up in how she felt that she didn’t look at things from his point of view. “Hak, can you hold still for me?” she asked as she mustered up her courage.
“What are you—,” he started to ask but the words caught in his throat as she began to climb into his lap. His face heated up as she straddled his hips and brought her hands to his face. “Princess…”
“I know I told you I wanted you to call me Princess but right now I want to hear you call me by name,” she said brushing the hair out of his eyes.
Hak’s eyes filled with love as he moved one hand up to caress her hair. “Yona,” Before he could react Yona leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his lips. He froze, unable to move do to the overwhelming feeling rushing through him.
Yona’s face was lit up in a blush as she pulled away. Still holding his face between her hands she began to let him know just what he meant to her. “Hak, with everything I have been through you are the one who has always been by myside. You have almost died trying to protect me! No matter what happened I knew you would always be there and now I couldn’t imagine my life without you by my side. Just the thought of you not being there makes my heart break,” she said as tears weld up in her eyes. “How could I be so blind? Maybe it was because you were always so close? I took that for granted because I knew you would always be there. It took me so long to realize how much I wanted and needed you by my side.” Tears spilled down her cheeks. “Hak, I love you, I love you so much that the thought of losing you makes me feel like I will fall apart.”
Hak felt like he had been punched in the chest. The breath he had been holding in came out in a shudder as he wiped the tears from her cheek. “You…you love me?” he muttered. Yona nodded as a smile graced her beautiful face. “You love me?!” he said a bit more urgently still unable to accept the truth.
“Yes, Hak…I love you,” Yona answered, trying to pour all her love into those three words hoping he would finally understand.
“You love me,” He said one more time. This time it wasn’t a question. He sat up and crashed his lips against hers in a heated fever. He never believed he would hear those words and now that he knew what they meant he couldn’t stop himself. He fisted his hand in her crimson locks as his other arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her closer.
“Yona,” he muttered in-between kisses. “Yona.”
“Hak,” she replied and he took the opportunity to deepen their kiss.
He lost track of time as he poured all of his love into his kiss. They broke apart, breathless as they held each other. Hak rested his forehead against hers and smiled. “Now you will never get rid of me.”
