Is there a difference between kauya and miruya in terms of sense? And does kauya still mean 'to swim'?
I would say the original sense conveyed by kauya is something like “to function, live/breathe”, and this could pretty easily translate into a meaning like “to move/act freely”, hence kauya could still be used to mean “to fly” or “to swim”, but in a somewhat abstract sense. In contrast, miruya would have a more concrete meaning, i.e. to move through the air, defy gravity, etc.
