This is one of my main sources for looking at Korean historical clothing lately. I used it in particular when I was designing the dress for my Korean Rapunzel art that I put up on RedBubble. Though I do not currently have legal access to a lot of historical kdramas, I like history, I’m learning Korean, my confirmation sponsor was a Korea-based religious sister, and I like learning parts of history that didn’t make it into my school textbooks. One of my minors was in the Anthropology/Sociology department at my undergrad (where I mostly studied African cultures, actually). Joseon also makes it into my novel writing because I based one of the fantasy countries off of the Joseon period and gave it a lot of the basic progress of the Korean peninsula and Manchuria province. I think I say this a lot, but I haven’t written in a while so here’s a reminder: I think of “realistic” fiction as featuring a diversity of characters because I’m from a big city, and so I knew wanted to add different cultures and peoples interacting in my worldbuilding.Â
