ive been thinking hard about how ironic ink's backstory is with him originally being a scrapped and unfinished idea when comyet is one of the more active creators with all the inktobertales and the merch

and meanwhile swap sans's creator completely cut ties with their connection to him. he's an idea left to the community. he'll never have a concrete faq page like ink. his personality and design changes a lot more often between different artists than most other sanses because there isn't really a canon to follow.

people talk about preferring "canonswap" over "fanonswap" all the time as if there is an easily accessible canon like there is for a lot of the other popular sanses. like hate to say it but the second you flesh out your interpretation of swap sans (and underswap in general) it's not really "canon" because it's not like you have the same ideas as the original creator. and that's okay, you shouldn't have to stress over making it as close to canon as possible because the original creator left the idea. (and honestly when it comes to underswap people just use the term fanon when they mean it's an interpretation they dont like and vice versa for canon. At least in terms of personality—like buddy it's basically all fanon. but in case of design yeah it's really easy to tell who's using the original design as a reference and who's drawing him like an unethically bred pug)

and it's funny because you can kinda apply ink's in-universe story to swap. he's an abandoned concept living on because other artists stepped in. and now he's in so many different stories and is so many people's favorite character but it is kinda like he lost his soul since his interpretations vary wildly with the only concrete jumping points being his design and that he's "sans swapped with papyrus". even more ironic is how said stories include ink's story

what's more is that swap is included so often in other people's stories. he's in killer's story, he's in dream's story, he's in error's AND SPEAKING OF ERROR

BLUEBERROR IS ALSO A SCRAPPED CONCEPT. WHATS MORE IS THAT CQ HERSELF SAID THAT SHE'S FORGOTTEN A LOT OF DETAILS ABOUT HIM FROM HIS PERSONALITY TO HIS POWERS. AND Blueberror is NOWHERE NEAR as popular as swap. and it's funny because he became blueberror in the first place because error left him in the void. poor guy

and then you take all what i said and look at the star sanses. do you think ink knows how swap's a character without one creator. do you wonder if ink can tell when the swap he's talking to is being written by someone else because the details are all different. sometimes he likes puns. sometimes he hates puns. sometimes he wears gloves. sometimes he's not wearing gloves. sometimes he's the older brother. sometimes he's the younger brother

hmm thats hard.. your human swap already looks so perfect.. i out of ideas but i would say to give him.. a star shaped comb bc i think that would make him look silly and cute, star earings and.. i dunno simple mustache or a small chin beard?? not very good ideas but i tried :3
