shops for groceries: They shop together. What one forgets the other remembers. Also, Eridan would complain about Karkat not getting something, and Karkat would complain about Eridan getting the wrong thing.

kills the spiders: Well, technically Eridan will kill the spiders, but Karkat is the one who deals with them. Karkat doesn’t let Eridan kill the spiders because he always turns weird and pretends it’s Vriska, so Karkat just sets the spider outside.

comes home drunk at 3am: Eridan, cause he tries to drown out his problems, if Karkat drinks he does it in the comfort of his own home.

makes breakfast: Well, they both do. Though Karkat is the one that would cook for them both, but if Eridan is hungry he makes his own food, and doesn’t care enough to ask Karkat if he’s hungry and wants anything. Karkat likes to sleep in, but if Eridan hasn’t had breakfast, then he’ll just go ahead and cook something for the two of them.

remembers to feed the fish: Karkat remembers to feed the fish because Eridan doesn’t really care much for animals. Even if it’s aquatic life.

decorates the apartment: This is something they argue about sometimes. Eridan really likes the more finer things in life, and likes to feel lavished, it feels a little much for Karkat but there is no way Eridan will get rid of it. So they split the apartment down the middle and there are two seperate styles. Karkat yells at Eridan a lot about how embarrassing and dumb it makes their home look, but Eridan doesn’t care as long as he has his things.

initiates duets: Neither of them. They both find that to be embarrassing and stupid. But I guess if I have to choose one, I think Karkat would only do it ironically, since he’s learning to be ironic from Dave. 

Karkat's bloodcolour is getting hard to hide. Eridan knows about the problem, and has come to terms with his colour, either over time and because he's fond of Karkat (the only persterlogs that come close to Karkat's friendliness with him are Kanaya's), or because he's a history nerd and knows about the Signless, or whatever. Either way, he offers his hive, as it's much less conspicuous than Karkat's lawnring and gives him more space to move around. Karkat accepts, and thus Karkat moves in and becomes Eridan's roomie. He brings his lusus, who is delighted with his new semi-aquatic home.

The plot is about the budding romance between Crabdad and Seahorsedad as they struggle with the blended household.
