Oo, I love this one. Iâd go with sunshine, potted plants, cozy blankets, crisp white with pink and grey, fuzzy socks, cute notebooks, tea or cocoa in cute oversized mugs, florals, colorful baths, comfy pillows, scented candles⌠god okay I know I sound like Pinterest, but really this is very me.Â
Thoughtful: If you could change your name, what would you call yourself?
Actually, Maggie is a very anglicized shortening of my first name! So, itâs technically a changed name ;) But, if I could pick any name? I really like the name Lilith.

Hey there, Laur! âCan I have this dance?â coming right up! Â Prompt list here.
This spiraled out of control and is brought to you by that one episode of Gilmore Girls. Small town AU.
âCarrĂŠ?â
âSimmons,â said Milton, âIâm sorry, itâs justâI need a partner whoâs more prepared?â
Jemma cocked her head at him, squinting.
âCarrĂŠ?â
Milton looked over his shoulder to where CarrĂŠ stood, glaring back at the both of them.
âSimmons, itâs just that I really have to win this thing. And sheâs French.â
Jemma was about to ask what being French had to do with anything, but it was early, she hadnât had her tea, and what kind of man ran off with someone else fifteen minutes before he was supposed to be your partner in a dance marathon?
What kind of man ran off with anyone else at all?
It was such a shocking turn of events that she stood there, staring after him, until she felt a nudge at her arm.
âHere you go. Sorry it took so long.â
Before she knew it a large, strong, steaming cup of tea was placed in her hand, and she could only watch Fitz as he sipped a cup of his own. After a few seconds, he furrowed his brow.
âWhatâs wrong?â
âMilton,â she said. Fitz looked confused before he followed her gaze until he almost dropped his tea.
âHe dumped you for CarrĂŠ?â
Her only consolation was that Fitz seemed absolutely appalled.
âNo,â she said, âhe just . . . doesnât want to be my dance partner, because Iâm not French.â
âWhat?â Fitz looked to his left, then to his right, and then put his tea in her hand.
âFitz?â
âIâll be right back,â he said. âDrink your tea.â
Having been left by two men in the span of five minutes, Jemma thought that drinking her tea seemed the only logical thing to do. She was halfway through her cup when Fitz returned, gasping for breath.
âFitz?â
âItâs okay,â he said. âCoulson let me sign up when I explained what happened. Are you done?â
Her only thought that it was usually her and not Fitz who was this chipper at six in the morning. But Fitz must have taken her contemplation as an answer in the affirmative, because he took his cup and hers and threw them both in the nearby bin.
âOkay,â May called out over the loudspeaker, âall participating couples must be on the dance floor by the time the starting bell is rung. The dance begins in twenty seconds.â
There was a mad dash towards the floor, but Jemma stood still, not sure why Fitz was holding his hand out to her.
âFitz?â
He looked up at the clock, then winced. âSorry.â He took in a deep breath. âCan I, uh, have this dance?â
Jemma looked around at the crowd, the dance officials, and the other couples. When her gaze landed on Milton and CarrĂŠ, she took Fitzâs hand.
âYes.â
They ran to the dance floor, Fitz tugging Jemma along while Jemma tried desperately not to fall.
âTen,â May counted down, ânine, eight, seven, six . . .â
She almost stumbled over what looked like Hunterâs shoe, but managed to stay upright.
âFive, four, three, two . . .â
Fitz practically leapt onto the floor, spinning Jemma into his arms until they stopped, with her right hand in his left, and her left hand on his shoulder.
âOne!â
As the starting bell was rung, Jemma was overcome by a profound and unexpected sense of victory.
karasimmons replied to your post â[[MOR] would anyone even notice if I just disappeared?â
i would notice!! i'm terrible at keeping up with people but i would notice. you bring so much light to this fandom and this site <33
@karasimmons  thank you <333
iminwinnipegthatsincanada replied to your post â[[MOR] would anyone even notice if I just disappeared?â
Yes absolutely. People would notice. (I would notice) But depression is dumb and tries to convince you of the things that scare you most. Don't listen to those voices. People out there love you. People care.
@iminwinnipegthatsincanada  thanks, friend!! <333
seethem-dancing replied to your post â[[MOR] would anyone even notice if I just disappeared?â
While this might not be helpful because each case is unique and I KNOW how ultimately meaningless it is to be informed someone else is experiencing a similar feeling/terror/condition it has been my state for years now after my prolonged clinical depression rapidly escalated. I hear you¬ice you and the only advice I can give is cling to any positive/inspiring thing you can find. Even if it's just a picture of cute kitties or YT vid. Then write some brilliant FF again.
This is my Fitzsimmons Secret Valentine fic for @karasimmons, I hope you like it! It's a soulmate au in which you can see every colour except the colour of your soulmate's eyes, oh, and it's also set in a university. (a bit random I know)
It's been really fun being your valentine, and it'd be nice to keep talking if you like! I'm really sorry about not doing the Ghost Whisperer AU, but when I was researching it, it seemed really interesting and I can definitely see the similarities between Fitz and Jim- you said you'd be interested in maybe writing it someday and I think you should give it a go, 'cause I read some of your fics and you're an amazing writer, seriously. Anyway, here's the fic <3
Jemma Simmons would be lying if she said she hadnât wondered.
After all, sheâs a scientist, sheâs meant to wonder, and how could you not when- supposedly- thereâs someone out there whoâs perfect for you?
So, yes. Jemma wonders about them a lot. She wonders about what they look like, what they sound like, where theyâre from. Will they be friendly? Do they like science? (She hopes so.)
She wonders about the colour sheâs never been able to see. She wonders about how itâll feel to be able to see it, to be able to see blue, what itâll look like in her soulmateâs eyes.
But most of all, she wonders about when sheâll get to meet them.
âDonât worry,â Daisy assures, when Jemma not-so-casually brings up the topic of soulmates up again.
Theyâre sitting together on the grass, various books spread out in front of them, open but forgotten as they soak up the rare September sunshine.
âYouâll meet them eventually,â she continues, âand itâll be worth it when you do.â
Thereâs a soft, somewhat dreamy smile on her face and Jemma canât help but smile back; a few months ago, Daisy wouldâve given her an eye roll and a well-meaning but slightly cynical comment. She, unlike Jemma, had never been that bothered about finding her soulmate⌠until she met them, in the summer.
The comfortable silence is broken suddenly by the sound of Daisyâs ringtone. Her smile widens as she sees the name on the screen, and she answers the call.
âHey, Lincoln.â
Lincoln⌠Lincoln is great, and Jemma is incredibly happy for them both, really, but she canât help the bitter jealousy that she feels sometimes, rising up in her like an evil spirit. She swallows the feeling down, annoyed at herself.
She knows sheâll find her soulmate eventually. And, hey, sheâs only been at university for two weeks, thereâs still a chance that sheâll find them here⌠Sheâd just have to be patient.
* * * * *
Apparently, Jemma Simmons is not as good at being patient as she thought.
She knows, she knows that a lot of people donât find their soulmates until adulthood⌠but she also knows that itâs just as common to find them at university, and she had been so confident that sheâd find them there, (sheâd felt so ready to meet them, to see this new colour) that now, a month and a half later, she isnât quite sure what to do with herself.
Daisy notices her gloomy mood, and suggests taking a walk to take her mind off of things. The breath of fresh air helps, until she looks up at the sky and sees nothing but a dull grey. Sheâs used to it, of course, but the rush of curiosity and longing she feels is as strong as ever.
âDaisy?â Her voice is quieter than she expected; thereâs a wistful tone to it. Her eyes are still drawn to the atmosphere above her.
âMm?â
âWhat⌠what does it look like? The sky?â
Daisy shrugs. âI dunno. Big⌠blueâŚâ She laughs. âSorry, that probably doesnât help.â
âUh, no, it doesnât.â Jemma laughs, too. âBut, really.â She presses. âWhat is blue like?â
âI donât⌠I mean, itâs a pretty colour, I guess, but- weâre in England, Jemma, the skyâs usually grey anyway, so youâre not missing much!â
Jemma smiles at that, and the conversation moves on, but she still canât help wondering.
Wondering about the colour sheâs never seen and the person sheâs never met.
* * * * *
Jemma rushes outside, grateful for her freedom after a long day. She lets her mind wander, absent-mindedly letting her legs wander, too- right into someone walking in front of her.
Cheeks burning, she turns to look at them and apologise, andâŚ
Woah.
Sheâs met with a startling gaze, and suddenly sheâs drowning, drowning in those eyes and the beautiful colour of them. She canât look away, and wow, Daisy was so wrong earlier, sheâd been missing so much- how had she gone her whole life without this colour?
Jemma notices suddenly that the owner of the blue eyes is blinking back at her with the same awe and curiosity thatâs in her own gaze. She extends her hand and attempts a friendly smile.
âUh, hi!â They say in perfect unison, and laugh.
âWow, that was weird,â Jemma says, slightly awkwardly. âAlmost like we were⌠psychically linked or something!â
âYeahâŚâ He smiles back. Itâs a small, nervous smile, but Jemma can tell that itâs genuine and it warms her heart. âIâm, uh, Iâm Fitz. Oh, um, Leo Fitz, but just Fitz is okay.â
âIâm Jemma Simmons.â She canât help her voice sounding slightly breathless as she speaks.
âWait, youâre-?â Fitzâs brow creases in confusion for a moment, before he laughs again. âSo youâre the one whoâs been beating me in every Chemistry test!â
And then theyâre both laughing, laughing at nothing, laughing because theyâve finally found each other and itâs wonderful.
(PS. In case you were wondering, the reason they didn't meet earlier is that Fitz is a shy little cinnamon roll who spent most of his free time in Engineering Club x)

Hi Laur! Your AoSPositivityNet Secret Santa gift is (FINALLY) here. I am so, so sorry for the delay, and I just wanted to thank you for being so patient and understanding about everything. I hope you had a fantastic holiday, and are enjoying the start of a new year!! I hope this extra long fic that totally got away from me will make up for the wait!!
As she continued to watch him, she noticed a small flash of light near his hands. Confused, Daisy tilted her head and watched his hands closely. As his fingers twitched and moved, blue sparks danced and popped across his fingertips, and Daisy couldnât help the small gasp that escaped her lips. At least, she thought it was a small gasp. Though there was quite a bit of distance between them, it appeared the stillness of the library made the simple sound quite audible. Lincolnâs head shot up in surprise, and his eyes widened as they met hers. As if on instinct, his hands curled into fists, and he quickly tore his gaze from hers and began to frantically gather his things. Before Daisy could even process what had just happened, Lincoln had gotten to his feet and started practically power-walking away.
Daisy watched him go as what she had just seen finally clicked into place. This boy, this seemingly normal medical student, had powers. Just like her. Daisyâs first gut instinct was to run after him. She even took one step forward before something held her back. Later, Daisy would look back and realize that something was fear. Acknowledging that someone else had powers like she did would make it real. And for the past year since discovering her powers, Daisy had done nothing but try to forget about her abilities, and pretend sheâd never made that pop can tremble when she got angry. Pretend she she didnât feel every cell in her body vibrating every time she felt some emotion too strongly. That had even been one of the reasons sheâd pushed back against Jemmaâs meddling in her love life.
And yet, even now, it seemed as if every molecule in her and around her was buzzing. Like they were trying to propel her after him. Daisy glanced at the table the blond has so quickly vacated, and noticed that heâd left a book. A single, solitary book heâd probably come back for later when he thought sheâd be gone. But that one book was the catalyst in her decision. It was all she needed to tip the scales of her mind, and in a heartbeat she was rushing forward to scoop the book from the table before racing after him.
She caught sight of him just before he rounded the back corner of the building, and she turned up her speed. Now that sheâd decided to go after him, the thought of not catching him scared her even more than the thought of going after him had. Her feet pounded the pavement as she ran, and her heart sped up in her chest.
âLincoln! Wait!â she called out to him breathlessly as she neared, and she saw him freeze in front of her. She came to a stop cautiously behind him. âWait,â she panted again, struggling to catch her breath. He slowly turned to face her, but she noticed he took a slight step backwards. Daisy straightened slowly and steadied her breathing before holding the book out towards him. âYou, uh⌠you left one of your books.â Her words came out quiet and stammering, and Daisy silently cursed herself for sounding like a shy school girl. But now that she was in front of him, it seemed she couldnât quite find her voice. It was silent for a moment before he hesitantly reached for the book. His eyes never left hers as he watched her warily, and his body was tensed away from her as if every part of him was poised to run the second he sensed danger.
As he silently pulled the book from her hands, Daisy glanced down and noticed for the first time which book he had left. Daisyâs cheeks flushed a slight pink as he finished taking the chemistry book from her, and she thanked her lucky stars she was already flushed from running after him. She brought her eyes back up to his to see him still watching her. She opened her mouth to say something, but closed it again when the words simply wouldnât come. There was another second of silence before Lincoln finally spoke.
âBack there⌠did youââ But Daisy didnât let him finish. With his sudden words it was like the dam in her mind broke and everything came flooding out at once.
âI have powers too,â she blurted quickly, and Lincolnâs eyes widened in shock. She tried to regain her footing but it was no use. Her words came quick and fast and nothing she could do would stop them. âI-I can cause⌠tremors, earthquakes I guess. I can feel them coming, too. It started a year ago, I was angry and suddenly this pop can on my desk started shaking, andââ
âYou have powers?â It was Lincolnâs turn to cut her off, and truthfully Daisy was grateful for the interruption. She took a deep breath and simply nodded. She saw his whole body relax, and he finally tore his eyes away from hers. âI thought-I thought I was alone,â he almost whispered to himself, and Daisyâs heart clenched as she heard the words she thought to herself so many times. âI thought that there wasââ
âThat there was something wrong with you,â she finished for him. He looked back up at her and nodded slightly. She thought back to the moment Jemmaâs now-boyfriend Fitz discovered she had powers, and what heâd said to her. She spoke those words out loud now. ââThereâs nothing wrong with you. Youâre just different, and thatâs ok.ââ She spoke softly, taking a tiny step closer to him before she continued. âMy friend told me that when he found out about my abilities. I had just discovered them myself, and I said the same thing you did. But Fitz, he convinced me there wasnât anything wrong with me. With us. Weâre just different.â She took a deep breath and hesitantly placed a hand on his shoulder. âAnd sometimes, being different can mean making a difference.â He met her eyes and smiled slightly then, and Daisy matched it with a smile of her own.
They stood in a more comfortable silence then, until Daisy suddenly realized she still had her hand on his shoulder. She quickly removed it and cleared her throat, glancing away from him. In doing so, she missed the tiny spark of laughter in his eyes, and instead her eyes landed on the chemistry book still in his hand. She pointed to it now.
âI was glad you forgot that,â she told him softly. She forced herself to meet his eyes again as she continued. âI was trying to decide whether to follow you or not, but when I saw you left your bookâŚâ she shrugged. âWell obviously it helped me decide,â she finished lamely. Lincoln smiled and held the book up to look at it. Daisy felt her cheeks flush again, and this time she didnât have an excuse to hide it. To her horror, Lincoln chose that moment to look up.
âChemistry,â he said simply, glancing down at the book again. âWhat a coincidence.â Daisy sucked in a breath when he met her eyes again. The smirk that lit up his face as he watched her was enough to make her stomach tie itself in knots. She blushed even deeper than before and quickly looked down at her hands. She closed her eyes and cursed herself for being such a idiotâ again, but Lincoln just laughed. Daisy felt herself smile at the sound, but that smile quickly turned to a look of surprise at his next words. âYou wanna go grab a coffee with me, maybe?â
Daisyâs head shot up in surprise. He was still smiling, but there was a hesitancy there this time. Daisy closed her mouth that she hadnât realized had been hanging open in shock, and attempted a shy smile.
âI-uh, I would love to,â she nearly mumbled, but Lincoln immediately relaxed. The easygoing grin came back, and Daisy felt her stomach turn yet again.
As they fell in step beside each other, they subconsciously walked so close to each other their hands kept brushing as they moved. Trying to find anything to distract her from the feeling his hand brushing hers gave her, she voiced a question that was in the back of her mind.
âWhy arenât you surprised that I know your name?â She immediately regretted the blunt way she said it, but Lincoln simply chuckled. His hand came up to rub the back of his neck.
âYour roommate Jemma. After her and Fitz finally started dating, I think she was hoping we would too. She pointed you out to me once, so I just assumed sheâd probably done the same for you,â he mumbled awkwardly, and Daisy couldnât help but laugh. He turned to her quickly, eyes wide. âAnd I thought about it, honestly. I just⌠I wasn'tââ
âYou werenât sure you should even try to date,â she finished for him with a smile, and he nodded gratefully. âI thought the same thing.â There was another moment of comfortable silence, before Daisy broke it again. âJemma will be a little upset she didnât get to set us up, but Iâm glad we got to talk to each other on our own.â Lincoln simply smiled at her as they reached the coffee shop. He held the door open for her, and as she walked past him, he leaned forward to whisper in her ear.
âMe too.â Daisy smiled broadly, and the two of them fell into easy conversation as if theyâd known each other all their lives.
As they walked back side-by-side many hours later, their hands brushed against each other yet again. Only this time, Lincoln took advantage of it. He quickly wrapped his hand around hers, and Daisy started slightly. She glanced down at their hands before looking up to see Lincoln watching her carefully. She could read the question in his eyes, and she smiled. She tightened her grip around his hand in answer, and the two of them walked hand-in-hand back to their dorms.
But Daisy couldnât help but feel like they were walking towards a happier future.
