A.N: sooo i just wrote this under an hour lol bc i woke up and couldn’t stop thinking about this. So pls ignore any spelling or grammar mistakesss

!!! This takes place when Kara and Mon-El return to Argo. They defeated Reign for good and lets all imagine that Selena wasnt bad. Sooo our lovely Mon-El just confessed that he still has feelings for Kara and instead of being interrupted by an attack, lets say it was just Alura haha.

It’s been a slow week in Argo since Mon-El and Kara arrived. Exploring the small city, learning about new customs and, of course, trying their cuisine. It still feels like a never-ending dream for Kara, being back to her hometown and spending time with her mom.

After a relaxed dinner, Alura mentioned she was going for a walk in the gardens, leaving Kara and Mon-El alone in the Zor-El household.

“Wanna go to the roof and look at the stars?” Kara suggests, as they finish washing the dishes.

“Sure”. He smiles at her in reply.

The night is quiet and the sky is clear, perfect for star gazing. They both lay side by side, merely a feet from each other, as they stare at the stars and share stories of their constellations.

Mon-el’s gaze turns subconsciously to Kara’s face. He just wants to kiss her so bad. Kara feels his gaze but wills herself to keep her eyes on the stars above them. She knows that if she turns around to face him, she will want to kiss him too. But her feelings are still unresolved and everything is so messy. Is he really over Imra? Did his feelings for her never faded after all those years in the future? Is she willing to put herself out there once again?

Mon-el, observant as always, notices her inner struggles. It’s quite easy to tell: Her brows are furrowed and there is a vacant look on her deep blue eyes. They may have been apart for long, but he still knows how Kara can get inside her own head. But they aren’t together anymore and there is so much he hasn’t told her. So, instead, he takes a deep breath and holds her hand.

“Penny for your thoughts?”

Kara can’t help but smiling. When they were together, she noticed how easily Mon-El picked up Earthly phrases. She thought it was endearing how much effort he put into fitting in. She squeezes his hand, afraid that he will be taken away from her again.

“Being here feels like a dream. I really wanted this, take a break from superheroing and just be Kara Zor-El. But this past year has been so crazy that I can’t help but worry that something will go wrong…”

Crazy is an understatement, Mon-El thinks with a sigh but then says: “You deserve a break, Kara. I know that me coming back to Earth didn’t make things easier but I’m glad things worked out. And I’m glad you invited me to come to Argo.”

“Really? Do you like it here?” Kara turns to see him, a soft smile upon her pink lips.

“Of course.” He returns the gesture and can’t help but tucking a stray golden strand behind her ear. She is so beautiful. “It’s amazing how they are rebuilding the city.”

Stars in the sky long forgotten, Kara meets his gray eyes. Her heart feels so full with him by her side, even if doubts are still lingering. But she pushes them aside and focuses on the man whom she never stopped harboring feelings for. The man who understood her better than anyone else. The man who decided to stay in this timeline to protect her. The man she was and still is so proud of.

Mon-El cups her cheek carefully, without looking away, rubbing his thumb along her soft skin. How did he even consider going back to the future when all I ever wanted was this, being with Kara.

“I missed you, so much,” he confesses. “I lost you once. I won’t lose you again.”

Kara nods and closes her eyes, as a tear runs down her cheek. Mon-El wipes it away quickly, his heart tugging at the pain he caused her by being away.

“I promise I will make it up to you.” He kisses her cheek, pouring all his love and affection for her. “We’ll take all the time we need to fix this, my love”.

A.N: like i said in a previous post, I just cant get this idea out of my head and while this is just a little fic, im really considering making this an actual multi chapter fic. I just love karamel so much and im still so angry with the ending wtf

Base story : There’s a myth amongst Kryptonians that when a girl reaches certain age in their adulthood, by matriculation between the astronomical and calculations of her birth day, the person she will bound for the rest of her life will come. They called it soulmate. Kara Zor-El, daughter of Zor-El and Alura, finds the myth ridiculous. There’s no such thing as soulmate, there’s no such thing as love. It’s all just a chemical reaction matches up one and another. That’s what she believe. But when someone from a far come and touch her heart, will it change her mind?

This fic is a challenge for me because I’ve never written an Adult AU with Krypton/Daxam setting before (and yes it’s an AU yes it’s in Krypton/Daxam setting and yes it’s a challenge especially after months of writing hiatus and I think my brain is shrinking which did not help and I’m nervous), but for you, Marcella, I’m willing to take the chance and to at least try.
