Cette oeuvre est conservée au @artsmia (Minneapolis Institute of Art). ______ Day 28: frigate Ornament generically called kapkap from the Solomon Islands, made of boiled and then carved sea turtle shell (dark part) and tridacne shell (white part). Imported glass beads and fiber decorate the central part of the motif, which represents in the lower part a frigate bird with an open beak and wide spread wings. This bird has considerable symbolic importance in the archipelago, and elsewhere in the Pacific.
