When Carol went to bed alone that night she hadn’t expected to wake up in anyone’s arms and if anything, she’d have thought it was Hal’s she had woken up in. Maybe he’d have come back from that mission that night and he had slipped into bed with her. She wouldn’t have minded that but the arms she woke up to were stronger than his and last time Carol checked, Hal didn’t look like the man of steel. It was in that moment that Carol realized she was sleeping the man of steel’s arm and she screamed, moving away from him. 

“Clark? What the hell am I doing here? Oh my god, did we have sex?” Carol rambled as she held the sheet to her naked chest. “Oh my god I haven’t seen you in months what the hell is going on? Where’s Hal? Where’s Lois? Oh God, they’re going to kill me.” Carol rambled on as she stared at him with wide eyes and her eyes narrowed in on the fact that he was wearing a wedding bed. She froze. He and Lois weren’t married.... Carol slowly held her left hand up and her eyes widened at the sight of the golden band and the diamond. She barely knew Clark! How were they married?

Who accidentally pushes a door instead of pulling/vice versa - Hal, which is lethal because he gets frustrated really easily. More than one door has crossed him. More than one door has had to be replaced.

Who doodles little hearts all over the desk with their initials inside them - Clark, probably by virtue of being the only one that actually has a desk. I imagine he does the hearts absentmindedly, then adds the initials when Hal’s actually present in the room. Sometimes he notices, and there’s lighthearted teasing. Sometimes he doesn’t, and Clark just spends a little time watching him and smiling.

Who starts the tickle fights - Usually if Clark tried to tickle Parallax then he would be punched through a wall, but I can envision that there might be times where they’re intimate and Hal is more relaxed than usual, so Clark’s just about able to get away with it.

Who starts the pillow fights - Hal. He throws a pillow, and if Clark catches it instead of just letting it hit then he throws more. It quickly devolves into an intense pillow war. Feathers end up everywhere. If Hal wins then they end up in positions that homage that one panel from Zero Hour suspiciously closely. Then there is kisses.

Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile - Both. Since neither technically have to sleep, a lot of nights it might take one of them longer than the other to will themself to go to sleep. When they do, they spend some time just watching. You can usually see what’s running through Clark’s mind as he does so pretty easily. Doing so with Hal is… harder.

Who mistakes salt for sugar - I can imagine that both of them have done so at some point, because they’re absent minded messes. But Hal more, because he’s even more of a mess that also doesn’t know shit about baking, and doesn’t have x-ray vision to tell him the microscopic make up of the white granules he’s putting in his coffee.

Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1am in the morning - I think Hal’s more likely to make a mistake like that, probably a hold over from the times he also let it happen in his own apartment but was generally sleeping too heavily to notice because he’d basically collapsed the moment he got home.

Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines - Both, but Clark is worse because Hal at least has a sense of irony about it but Clark is this big ol’ romantic that says the soppiest things and it’s both really sweet and facepalm inducing.

Who rearranges the bookshelf in alphabetical order - Clark. It’s a benefit of having super speed that he could do something like that on a whim.

Who licks the spoon when they’re baking brownies - Clark. If Hal did it, it would most likely be a flirt manoeuvre that Clark deliberately plays dumb to, like ‘Hal you got a little on your chin’ then just leans in and wipes it off like it’s no big deal, playing innocent even though he knows exactly what effect that’s going to have.

Who buys candles for dinners even though there’s no special occasion - Clark buys them, Hal could create them out of thin air if the mood struck him.

Who draws little tattoos on the other with a pen - Hal, usually when he gets bored and Clark’s working, he sits on the desk and grabs a pen and starts doing little doodles and swirls. One time he gave him the Parallax symbol, without even realising he did.

Who comes home with a new souvenir magnet every time they go on vacation - Pfft why do they need mere magnets when Clark’s got an entire fortress of solitude in the Artic filled with weird alien tech and extinct species and random stuff they’ve picked up over the years?

Hmmm, which one?  I don't really know a lot about the Earth-3 version aside from his appearances in the New 52, which were at least pretty entertaining because Johns was having stupid fun writing him.  "It's cray-cray time!" isn't even remotely deep, but makes for an amusing read....and you just know that Johns always intended for Nu Len to be the one to defeat him.

I like the Golden Age Johnny, though I was miffed at the way Waid handled him.  Waid generally wrote him as something of a flim-flam artist who peddled positive thinking and was a bit of a fraud, and I mean I guess that differentiated him from the other speedsters, but it seemed disrespectful to a classic character.  He was still a good man who helped others and loved his daughter dearly, so there's that, at least.  But then Johns brought him back from the Speed Force just to graphically disintegrate him and explicitly kill him off, so I'm miffed about that too.  I love Max Mercury, but I'm not really sure why he was brought back from obscurity to use him in a positive way (both in the Waid era and in Flash: Rebirth, just like Johnny) but Johnny was treated kind of badly both times.  It feels like the modern writers didn't like him much, and just used him as a springboard to launch Jesse Quick.  Props for not using a female character to launch a male one as we so often see, but still kind of unfair to fans of the male character.
