Future red
I love trench coats but drawing them is a nightmare especially dramatically-billowing ones
So he’s taken to wearing a trench coat since Mike was captured, mostly to ‘blend in’ more with Motorcity, neither his coat nor fedora have a Kane symbol but he does have his own logo crudely scrawled on his right shoulder sleeve.

50. Breaking the Rules (Mike Chilton/Kane)
"This is your big day..."
Those words rang throughout Mikes head as he stared at a past relic. The shininess, gleaming piece of metal was still too perfect after a whole year. Even the indents with the words "M. Chilton" engraved on the badge wasn't scathed. Seeing this, Mike couldn't help but tighten his grip on the name tag. Normally, he wouldn't be fazed or distracted at all, but today of all days couldn't allow him to escape those feelings.
"I said, this is your big day!"
Those words spun past Mike, and he couldn't help but look up at Jacob and the Burners. "What?"
"The one year a anniversary of the day you left Kane! I made my special okra-mayonnaise muffins."
Applying a smile, Mike managed to say, "Uh thanks, but I don't really do anniversaries. The past is the furthest thing from my mind."
He meant the words, but then, Mike couldn't help but take glances back in to his past. After an entire year, this is how he celebrates. A whole year of trying to survive, protect, and having setbacks - too many of them - along the way, all because he decided to break the rules.
"You'all be leading your first mission today, calling the shots. You know what that means?"
"It means you'll be making tough decisions. Decisions that some people aren't going to like."
The abandoned buildings appeared before his eyes, and Mike had sought for the demolition to be done with within the time constraint.
"Target in sight men, prepare to demolish these buildings and report to KaneCo."
"On my count,
3..
2.. What?"
People had looked outside their windows, mothers backing away their children, men and women shutting their curtains, and some just staring. All the expressions were different; fear, sadness, but the most strong emotion was hatred.
Calling into base, Mike was greeted by Kane's hologram hovering over him. "Is there a problem Commander Chilton?"
"Sir, there's been a mistake, these buildings are not abandoned. There are people inside."
"People? Your people are up in Deluxe commander."
"You don't understand. This building is full of tenants."
"And? This is one of those tough decisions we spoke of, remember that?"
Mike was bewildered. Had Kane been lying this whole time? Had Kane only thought about Deluxe and nothing of the people, whether it be in Deluxe or Motorcity?
"Wait, Sir, you knew there were people inside?"
"We're on a schedule here Chilton. Get those buildings down now, or do I have to come down there and do it myself?"
He couldn't take down the building now. No, wouldn't. If he had to make a tough decision, then so be it. It was going to make some disagree, but those tenants were Mike's first priority.
"No. I can't do it Sir."
"What?"
"I won't do it."
4 words was all it took to demonstrate his resent for Kane's plot. There was no way Mike was going to harm those people. He broke the rules, and now he was going to pay the price.
Being a Burner, no, being a human meant that there are going to be moments where everything seems to fall apart, but as long as he takes the right path, Mike will never regret his decision to defy Kane that day.
Getting an alert, Mike sat up and relayed the Burners their instructions. Marching past everyone with confidence and the past behind him, Mike threw away his name tag. Some things were meant to be broken.
In my country, we play a lot with the name of Kaneki.
In my language, the word '’Kaneki'’ is very similar to the word ''Caneco'' or ''Caneca'' which in English means ''Mug''
And ''Ken'' in my language has the same pronunciation as the word ''Quem'', which means ‘'Who’'.
So we play a lot and we call him ''Kaneco Ken''. That literally would be ''Mug who''
(Sorry Kaneki, I mean, Kaneco , We love U <3)
