"That's okay," she says, even though a drink is exactly what she needs after a day like today. "You don't need to do anything special for me."

Kat steps further into the house and like magic, she feels some of the tension from the day draining from her. Because the house, like Elliot, is exactly how she remembers it. She makes herself at home, just as she always did, and takes a seat on the couch. A lone glass of whiskey on a coaster dots the coffee table.

I had one (1) funny thought about Founder's Day buttons and many thoughts about how Kat would navigate being both a Landry and an Augustine. 2 days and 2k later, here we are. Enjoy!

Kat keeps her eyes down, focusing on pairing socks—a sure sign she's nervous, because she's usually a throw them all in the drawer kind of girl. Not that Elliot can't see through her anyway. She takes a deep breath. "Now that we're married, I've been thinking about changing my name. Or, rather," she continues hurriedly, "not changing my name."

"Okay," Elliot says with a nod, waiting for her to go on. He hangs another shirt.

"Does that," she hesitates, "bother you?"
