What's sad, that's exactly what happened.
Bai he knew that even before the official news of her parents divorce , her dad wasn't happy. She could see it every day and she knew it was sadly her mom and his job that made him that way.
So when the divorce was official, and Bingchun won custody of her, she made him promise something.
She made him promise he would stop doing things that made him sad and do more things that made him happy.
Bingchun actually took the promise to heart. He quit his life sucking job as a lawyer, and started his own business. He bought a house for him and Bai he and they have been living together for awhile.
But she can tell he's lonely and still sad. He only smiles for her and no one else. She LOVES his big smile and she wishes she could see it more.
And then one day she sees it. It's small! But it's there! And it's because of this awkward tatted up spider demon. So of COURSE she needs to make sure they have a reason to see each other again. At first she's doing it so her dad can have a friend to talk to, but then as Syntax and Bingchun hang out, she realizes there might be some chemistry there. So it's now matchmaking time!
She keeps encouraging her dad to hang out with Syntax and even insists on getting a babysitter so she doesn't have to be dragged along. (More alone time like that ;3 )
Of course nothing can be easy (especially when I'm writing) and Syntax and Bingchun end up dancing around each other for a long time, Bingchun even going as far to deny his attraction to men. (Inadvertently hurting Syntax over it)
Anyways that's all I have for now. I've been meaning to write this side fic out but I've been dealing with some family stuff and just haven't had energy to do anything. Not even update my stories that I love or respond to friends.

Monkey king had shown up a total of 2 times. Both times he was the old lady. Once at the restaurant and again at the hospital to give MK a sunflower and cheer him up.
The lesser known cameo of Macaque was only once
There was a few people thinking the doctor was also Wukong but that's not the case ;)
I'm not sure if he's gonna show up physically again but I am gonna be tying him in again in a later chapter :3

Ahhh thank you. I'm so glad you enjoy them! They are very self indulgent so it's nice to know others are eating it up lol. Like when I sit down to write i go "hmm....how much can I hurt this character? And how self indulgent can I make this?" XDD then I write exactly that! Lol
Ahhhh I feel bad tho because I won't be updating either of my stories for awhile due to a lot of stuff going on in life. both my mom and dad have covid and I'm planning a bachelorette party, moving out next month, and all other not fun personal stuff at work that I'm not comfortable talking about.
But I'm still writing here and there! Hopefully I can update soon! I'm also planing on going fully back online soon
