the show does a wonderful job of taking the ways in which Max and Kyle love and not making it some overarching The One propaganda, because it’s never repainted as a bad thing that Kyle hasn’t been in love with Liz in the ten years he hasn’t seen her, even though it’s a stark contrast to Max having been so lovesick having not seen her for a decade he can’t even pursue other romantic entanglements, instead it’s just- different ways of approaching and experiencing romantic and sexual love, like Max is written painfully aro/ace while Kyle is written as the standard allo romantics/sexual individual, and it never claims that Kyle is any less for not being in love with Liz while she was out of his life, he’s shown refalling in love with her which is such a beautiful thing, while Max is depicted as being so stuck and waiting without ever even dreaming that his waiting would amount to anything, like there’s just so much to be said in how much of a statement the first three seasons were in the human condition
