Kalina’s Cold-Killing Tea
I use my huge 1.5 l jug for this tea, as I like to drink it throughout the day.
Ingredients:
Ginger (about as much to fit in your palm) - anti-inflammatory, high in antioxidants, treats nausea and I find it helps me with sore throat
Mint (handful of fresh leafs) - aids digestion, rich in nutrients, improves cold symptoms, helps clear nose, anti-inflammatory
Sage herbal tea (two to three teaspoons) - very high in nutrients and antioxidants, supports oral health, high contain of rosmarinic acid which is anti-inflammatory
Lemon (either one half squeezed or chopped in) - source of vitamin C, which ensures proper function of the immune system
Honey (two teaspoons) - rich in anti-oxidants, helps soothe sore throat and upper respiratory tract infections
Yarrow (about two teaspoons) - helps against fever, cold and nausea or even menstrual pains
Steps:
Chop or grate your fresh ginger (I find grating difficult, so I instead chop it to very thin circles) and throw it in the jug along with mint leafs
Add sage and yarrow to the jug, preferably in a tea strainer
Add in boiling water
After 15 minutes, remove sage and yarrow and let sit for 5-ish more minutes. Don’t remove the ginger and mint
Add lemon juice and honey - you don’t want to ruin the nutrients by scorching them
Stir and drink!
Since you’re letting the ginger and mint in, you can always add in more water and continue to drink it.
Stay healthy and blessed be,
Kalina Luna
