Mother: Kalan’s mother was a slaver in the Underdark, capturing any wayward soul lost in the wilderness to take back and sell at drow cities. Her daughters worked for her as soon as they could walk. She treated her children as nothing more than employees she didn’t have to pay, making the complicit in her vile career. Kalan fled the first chance they got.

Sisters: Kalan’s sisters were vile like their mother but united by their jaded frustration with her. They would steal booze and get drunk together when she wasn’t looking, leading to Kalan receiving his first experiences with alcohol when he was still a child. Despite their common tormentor, they were still mean spirited to each other and Kalan grew to become a target of bullying thanks to his androgynous body.

Father: When Kalan was still a small child and working in their mother’s house instead of in the wilderness, they were briefly accompanied by the elf that was their father. Their father had been an elf their mother captured and took a fancy to. He was the only source of kindness Kalan had ever experienced. They held onto that memory, even after their father disappeared when they were still little.
