Long time no see! I haven't posted anything in hundreds of years😅. Lately, I've been playing DIABLO4 S13, and I've already completed LOH and the Season Pass. Honestly, this season has been a bit grindy😫. LOH's storytelling was truly unexpected. I didn't expect Blizzard to put effort into this—really surprised!

The Chronicles of Creation that need to be collected in the game also provide great information about the Rathma's family; What is now certain is that Rathma loves his parents very much, and Lilith loves him very much too. He is almost the only one who makes Lilith emotional; Inarius may have loved him—provided Inarius didn't disguise himself as a good dad in some of the messages and visions in Chronicles of Creation🤔.

Priest's of Rathma often sleep in crypts. It's part of their initiation, and they just become more used to, more comfortable over time.

Skeletons will occasionally form bone piles around a sleeping priest that they like to protect them while they're vulnerable. Not because they've been commanded to, but because of their link to death and the innate human tendency to pack bond and protect one another.

Malthael discovers this manually as he returns to where he left his nephalem in a mausoleum only to find Rathma completely covered in bones, even snuggled into them. Like some weird gristly nest.

Sorry, reposting because I forgot the texture layer >< When Cursed AU was first being developed, @seraphixuss gave me this agonizing idea: What if Malthael and Rathma had met before D3 happened, and speaking with someone as obsessed with research and knowledge as himself had almost -delayed- his fall. That thought's stayed with me for a long time, so I decided to comic it out to the lyrics of a pop song from the 1960s. "Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again" by The Fortunes. This hurt so good to draw.

Like she has no idea until she’s standing before his corpse that she was too late. She was always too late and there is absolutely nothing she could’ve done to get to him in time. He’s been dead for years and she’s only been back in sanctuary for a few weeks. Even if he would’ve let her save him, she never would’ve had the chance to.

It really puts the confrontation between Lilith and Inarius in the final act into perspective imo? Lilith is struggling with the fresh grief of her son’s death while Inarius has been applauding himself and patting himself on the back for it for years. Like no wonder he dismissed her words about Rathma so easily. He’s convinced himself he did the right thing years ago and you can’t overturn years of telling yourself you’re in the right with a single conversation.
