(starter for @conflictborn​ ) Flicking through his phone’s messages and regarding the submarine and slide to this apparent ‘underwater city’ with a glare of outright suspicion through his bespectacled gaze, the fact of the matter was simple: he wasn’t going down there even if you paid him to do it. Some other group just claiming to have all the answers like this when they stood the most to gain from putting her under scrutiny and suspicion, turning folk against her? Yeah, he wouldn’t say the mayor was ‘perfect’ either. Hiding all that stuff (he very vividly remembered his trip to the abandoned mine that looked very much as if it had been ditched due to something dangerous being unearthed, after all, that was even RIGHT NEAR living quarters) that could potentially be very dangerous for those stuck here: if the experiment was going to simply ‘let them go’ once it was done, they couldn’t exactly do that if they were hurt or whatever: but honestly, right now? Neither side was exactly giving the most confidence, and he’d be foolish to go listening to this other suspicious group and go down to the water just because they said so. Yeah, maybe he wasn’t the most openly trusting of people to begin with and wary of everyone he first met regardless, but still, the group gave really sketchy vibes. It....seemed like the phone’s message system which was open to every person in the city, and gave out everyone’s number, was on alert, though - his phone was ringing.
