KAHLLA shares new single ‘Rearview Mirror’
Kahlla completes her anticipated sophomore EP Time with the release of the reflective final single ‘Rearview Mirror’. The epic closing track for the 5 track strong body of work is a meditation on trust and acceptance.
On ‘Rearview Mirror’ Kahlla blends a minimalist piano motif, muted drum loops and ethereal vocals that build into an epic orchestral outro. On the song Kahlla says: “Rearview Mirror was inspired by psychotherapist Esther Perel. In one of her podcast episodes she said: trust is a leap of faith. That deeply resonated with me at the time, as my trust had just been badly betrayed and I was reevaluating many aspects of my life, including how I could ever trust again. Ultimately, the message of the song is that you can’t prepare for whatever hurt may come. You have to accept that you can never truly know the past nor the future.”
‘Rearview Mirror’ was produced by Kahlla and Duncan Pym (Mysie, Litany). Influenced by artists such as Jimmy Eat World, Låpsley and Death Cab for Cutie this sophomore EP is Kahlla at her most self-assured, releasing a body of work entirely written, co-produced and visually dreamt up by herself.
