Basically, the change is that individual blogs look kind of like what I just screencapped and you can do minor things to customize how it looks, including uploading a banner, choosing a few accent colours and changing the font of your blog title. This is how blogs have looked on mobile in the browser for a while (minus the customizability), so I personally like the change.

You can change a lot of details to make it look more like what you want. You can either do this on the app or by going into Tumblr settings while on the computer and upload a banner/change colours and fonts to make it what you like
