imo we wont know if its great writing or not until they elaborate on it. right now its just something that happened and we have other things to deal with until then.
I know it’s only really been touched on in Moonlight/Lostroom, but that’s also all we have to go off right now, and at least in my eyes, his actions don’t make sense with who Galahad is.Â
Galahad is the pure knight. He’s the one that is allowed to take the actual Holy Grail and goes up to heaven. His inclusion in the story is to deliberately act as a foil against his father, Lancelot. Lancelot is the sinner, Lancelot is flawed, the other knights are flawed, and only Galahad is pure enough. He’s not the strongest of the knights (although that also gets thrown out the window), he’s the purest of heart.Â
To an extent, I can understand him being angry at our ignorance of the future and how our (justified) actions resulted in something worse happening. But the idea of Galahad then deciding “Well, I’m not going to help you with this. You’re on your own!” really doesn’t feel in-character. His leaving is a particular bad nugget, but the entire twist that’s he’s not happy with us is also not strong writing. It relies on him being angry about things we couldn’t have possibly known.Â
It’s possible I’m misremembering things here, and they really have not touched on the Galahad thing at all after this happens, it’s just doesn’t feel right for who the character is supposed to be.Â
