Thank you! Ciner isn’t the most scholarly type. Here he is interested in more than a simple translation of a few words. He has never seen a Miraluka, neither on Dromund Kaas nor on Korriban. Even though the Jedi probably have done some research on the subject, Ciner doubts they’d allow him to study their findings if he asked nicely. He is Sith after all.

Honorable mention: The Worst Day/Alternate perspectives pair for a young Jesp Rixik and younger Kirya Bilali, for such differing views on the same situation. The Strange Case of Dr Quinn and Mr Pierce, for the inspiration and use of language, though I think I’d edit out the comedic bit with Mr Broonmark’s hat if I had it to do over. The collected drabble bits I did in December. I had fun writing them. Two, Vashutarl’s and Jurial’s, beg for follow ups. A Little Bit of Lettice, where I tried to show a character’s past and her feelings about that past and her present by letting the reader see what she saw, with very little explanation and no dialogue. Whether it worked or not is open for debate but it was a good exercise.

Full Name: Echo, She doesn’t know her full given name as her parents left/died before memory. She was given a very nice traditional chiss name she just doesn’t know it. (and neither do I, I’m still working it out.)Gender and Sexuality: Cis woman, Pansexual. Pronouns: she/herEthnicity/Species: ChissBirthplace and Birthdate: She was born on Drummund Kass in the alien slums. when?  she’s not sure, there are no birth records. She’s roughly 20-22 when the IA story starts.. Guilty Pleasures: She feels no guilt about any of her pleasures, she’s a hedonist and she will enjoy the fuck out of anything she wants. (It’s dresses, she likes fancy dresses, but she’s never had reason to indulge.) Phobias: Commitment. She’s had many lovers but she tends to chase them away when things take a turn for the serious. She was involved with Vector, but she refused to let him suppress the hive, it felt too personal. When he purposed marriage she started being far more brutal on her missions until he broke it off when she refused to stop. Kaliyo was a habitual bed warmer, but it was easy with her, she knew it was just to blow off steam. Theron scares the shit out of her…because SHE’S the one who started to care, and she doesn’t know what to do with these feelings. What They Would Be Famous For: She’s a spy, she better not be famous, but if she had to be famous for something it would be, being the Hand of Jadus, for an alien of unknown origins to rise to such a station is a pretty big deal.  She’s famous within Intelligence for “clean” jobs, there are never any loose ends. They say clean but she leaves the most blood in her wake. What They Would Get Arrested For: She WAS arrested for slicing into some rather sensitive networks on Drummond Kaas, it’s how she was “recruited” into Intelligence. Barring that? MurderOC You Ship Them With: Nijian, my husbands very darkside Sith WarriorOC Most Likely To Murder Them: I’m going to go with Shiloh, my first IA…they are polar opposites, and Shiloh would see Echo as a loose canon who can’t be trusted and therefore too dangerous to have around. Favorite Movie/Book Genre: Horror/thrillerLeast Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: How virginity is such a prized commodity in romance novels, and how the “first time” always hurts. Talents and/or Powers: Observant, adaptable, charm and sex appeal, she’s a chameleon, and a talented slicer. Why Someone Might Love Them: I have no idea, she’s not very lovable. Many have fallen in love with her for the part she plays for them. She wants them to fall in love with her, they’re marks, and it’s business. Why Someone Might Hate Them: see above, when said mark learns they’re a mark, usually right before they die. Someone might also hate her if they knew the extent of her crimes, both legal and illegal, she has no loyalty to the Empire, everything/everyone is expendable so long as she comes out on top.How They Change: She has a crisis of conscience shortly after meeting Theron. It starts slow with sparing informants, letting innocent civilians who saw too much live. She doesn’t realize she’s doing it until Kaliyo points it out. After Ziost guilt catches up with her over everything, being the monster no longer holds the same appeal, she’s tired of not trusting except by then she thinks it’s too late to turn a new leaf. By the end of Chapter 9 of kotfe she’s actively trying to be a better person, she’s still soaked in blood, but there are a lot fewer dead bodies around her.Why You Love Them: Because she’s darkside 5 and terrible and snarky and evil with this tiny sliver of humanity left in her that she’s been trying to suppress and ignore, she does’t even have a proper name, she’s been an enigma her entire life, a shadow and a ghost, the Grim fucking reaper, and it’s falling in love, falling kicking and screaming, that saves her soul.

I buy massive rolls of tinfoil because I rarely use it, so I don’t know how much I have in the drawer and don’t want to run out on the rare occasion that I do actually need it.

Last I had a cool/terrible idea for political satire. In tone and events a mashup of 1984 and Farenheit 451. While I think its both interesting and timely It’s also depressing and I don’t need that right now.  I’m also not sure there’s a whole novel in it.  Longer than a post or two, but probably more in the longish-short-story range.
