A (love?) letter to Kaeya:
Kaeya,
My beloved Kaeya, words cannot express how much I’ve missed you. I’m sorry to have been away for so long, I constantly find myself longing for the days long past in a time when I could stay in Mondstadt and bring you with me on every adventure. But the life of an adventurer takes me farther from Mond by the day and as much as I wish to bring you with me, I know your responsibilities as a Knight take precedence.
Inazuma is so different from the land of wind, the feeling of oppression here is nearly suffocating. There’s almost no sense of the freedom I grew so familiar with when I spent my days with you exploring Mondstadt. I miss the city almost as much as I miss you.
It is a great relief that my time here is soon coming to a close and I can soon return to you. Inazuma has not been all bad and there are many things I’ve come across here that I wish to share with you. I’d love to prepare a few dishes for you to try with some sake, the local drink of choice here, if you’d have me. Perhaps I should even commission a kimono for you before I leave. Although I’m sure nothing can compare to your fashion sense, it would be interesting to see you in something new. There’s also a firework shop here, but I have a feeling Jean wouldn’t appreciate me bringing such a thing back to Mondstadt. Our local pyrotechnician certainly doesn’t need to get any new ideas in her head.
Writing this letter makes me all the more eager to return home, I’ll need to wrap things up here in Inazuma quickly. There’s so many things I can’t wait to revisit in Mondstadt, maybe we can spend a day out when I get back. I want to visit the statue of the Anemo Archon at Windrise, maybe we can sit on the branches of the great tree there and I’ll make you a crown of the Windwheel Asters that grow around there. They might look nice paired with some Calla Lilies. It would be nice to pay a visit to the Dawn Winery too, perhaps Diluc would be so kind as to gift us a bottle of Dandelion Wine and we could picnic at Starsnatch Cliff. It would be a perfect time to try some of those recipes I mentioned and I could bring along some sake for you to compare to the wine.
There are so many stories I have to tell you, and I’m sure there’s plenty that’s been going on around Mond that I’ve missed out on. Perhaps we can exchange stories while stargazing after our picnic.
I’ll tell you a little story now to wet your palette; When I first arrived in Inazuma it was quite the ordeal. I don’t think I’d ever have gotten past the first island of the archipelago if not for my guide Thoma. Thoma is a man in service to the Kamisato Clan, which is useful in a land where connections matter more than anything else. Outlander Affairs is not kind to those visiting Inazuma and there are many hoops one must jump through. In applying for residency, the administrator informed me that the processing fee would be two million Mora, which is no small amount. She was very firm on this and it was looking like I’d soon be broke, and I certainly would be if not for Thoma. As it turns out, six hundred Mora and a dinner with him was enough to cover our costs, Outlander Affairs makes a good chunk of change simply conning newcomers out of their Mora. Having a local friend is truly invaluable in Inazuma.
That’s all you’ll get from me about my time in Inazuma for now, the rest you’ll have to hear from me in person if you’re curious. Luckily, I will be returning home soon so you needn’t wait long. I can’t wait to see you again, I hope you’ve missed me as much as I have you.
Yours Truly,
Your Beloved Kitten
Be sure to come back soon, the wine doesn’t taste the same in your absence.
The few stories you’ve told are already fascinating, I’m intrigued to know what else happened. But I’m sure you’ll tell me all about them as soon as you return.
Come back safely, I’ll be awaiting your arrival with open arms, kitten.
