Trying that “husband’s friend feeds you” prank on Bakugou would not go well. He sees Denki trying to hand feed you something and he’s smacking it out of his hand before you can even lean over.
Always sending Katsuki those videos that say “This initial owes you pizza.” or “This initial owes you ice cream.” But he never sends any back to you. He doesn’t have time to doomscroll dumb videos like that! That’s what he says anyway until one day he comes stomping down the stairs, freshly showered, towel still on.
“Needta show you sumthin…”
You glance up, doing a double take at the way his towel is sitting low on his hips, water still dripping down his stomach. “Kat—“
“Not that, dummy.” He shoves his phone into your face. “How come I always owe ya pizza or ice cream but this is the shit I get for you?”
You watch the video with the caption “This person likes to push elderly people down the stairs on Tuesdays.” They draw your initial and you burst out laughing.
“S’bullshit.” He says it without venom before he starts walking away from you and back up the stairs.
“Wait! Does that mean you’re getting me pizza and ice cream?” You call out before he even makes it up halfway.
He ducks his down to look at you. “Fine. I’ll getcha pizza’n ice cream.”
You hear the creak of the next stair and you call back out, “Better watch yourself on Tuesday!”
You hear the step creak under his weight as he stops. “Didja just call me old, you fuckin’ brat?”
You have about 3 seconds before he’s back down those stairs, towel forgotten, before you really have to answer that.

The day Katsuki proposes to you, you think he’s planning to break up. He’s barely talking to you, won’t hold your hand, no music on in the car, keeps taking calls or going to the bathroom, doesn’t even order a beer at the restaurant, just straight water. You’re thinking, this is it. He’s breaking up with me today.
But he’s actually nervous as fuck and barely holding his shit together. Keeps having to dip away from you to wipe off the sweat that’s pouring down his face and armpits. He doesn’t even want to hold your hand with how wet his hands are.

Subject: HPSC / BMS Collaboration Reminder
All,
This is a reminder that the Japanese Hero Public Safety Commission’s president and their pro heroes will be here today at 12PM. There will be a short assembly with introductions followed by a catered lunch.
Please keep our company principles in mind as you interact with our guests from Japan today and work alongside them from this point forward. We want to continue to foster a budding relationship with the Hero Public Safety Commission.
Thank you,
CEO | Battle Mission Systems Corp.
“They’re all so… big.” Someone whispers a little too loudly. The thud of an elbow landing squarely in a coworker’s ribs and a sharp exhale causes some half-hearted chuckles.
It’s true though, Poppy thinks as the pro heroes from Japan line up at the front of the large conference room. They’re dressed in business casual, just like everyone else in the office, but they are much more visually striking in comparison. Biceps fill out the arms of classic button downs. Strong legs peek out from beneath fitted, pencil skirts. Some heroes are taller than others, but even then, they stand out against the BMS management team and the small corporate team from the Japan’s Hero Commission that also flew in for the next couple of days.
Poppy sits among other BMS leads, trying not to stare directly at the heroes and failing. One of them keeps catching her eye: a tall blonde with a scowl on his face. Wonder who will get that one? She muses. Hopefully he’s just having a bad morning - maybe the jetlag is affecting him? Either way, it’s not like Poppy hasn’t worked with worse people before; stubborn pilots and technicians were a dime a dozen while working on other simulation projects. Big egos come with the territory.
“I’ve never seen a real pro hero this close before.” Trix, one of Poppy's artists, squeezes in beside her, practically vibrating with giddiness. She shifts her long dark braids forward and wiggles her brows at Poppy who doesn’t even try to hold back a smile at her antics.
“Better get used to it. This project is gonna take at least a year,” someone answers back with an irritated sigh.
Poppy presses her lips together to keep from commenting. A year? Pfft.
Before anyone else can potentially offend the pro hero guests, the CEO of Battle Mission Systems Corp approaches the podium and jumps straight into his speech on team work and collaboration. The room silences immediately as he emphasizes respect and the importance of communication. He subtly reminds everyone that this collaboration is important for the future of BMS’s simulation work.
This collaboration has been a long time coming. Poppy and her team had worked their asses off with the programmers and system design team to demonstrate their 3D capabilities in the last year. Management took their demos straight to the American Hero Commission. They were impressed, but would only give BMS small contracts. BMS management decided to start going to foreign tradeshows instead, eager to bring business in. All the while, the employees in the US continued to turn out more demos, pushing the tech as far as they could with limited pro hero participation, their quirks, and their support devices to help shape it.
Eventually, Japan threw their hat in the ring. So much was riding on this new relationship with the Japanese Hero Commission being a success. If Japan endorsed their work and continued to work with them on simulation projects, other countries would want in on it too. It brought an enormous amount of stress to all of management that in turn rolled down to leads and their teams. Poppy was no exception, but she had compartmentalized all that pressure for today at least. She could freak out later in the privacy of her office that this was actually happening.
As the CEO wraps up his “inspiring speech,” the Japanese Hero Commission’s president steps up to the podium. He introduces himself as a former pro hero: Hawks. His speech is short but passionate about finding ways to make hero work safer for everyone, including pro heroes. There’s applause from all, then finally, he begins introductions of the Japanese pro heroes.
Whispers pick back up again as one by one, the pro heroes step up and introduce themselves and list their ranking. Most are in the 100s but no rank really stands out to Poppy. She tries to concentrate so she can at least remember everyone’s names. She has no idea who her team will be working with one-on-one among the heroes, but as the only lead over the entire art department, there is a good chance that she’ll be working with each of them in some capacity.
The whispers start to die down as one of the largest pro heroes steps forward for his introduction. His bright red hair and sharp toothed smile stand out, and his face is quite handsome to boot. He doesn’t look intimidating despite his size. However, that’s not what silences the room.
“I’m Eijirou Kirishima, Red Riot, the No. 12 Pro Hero in Japan.” He bows deeply towards the room.
Poppy swallows thickly, her palms beginning to sweat. The pressure she has been trying to shove down begins to rise to the surface… Number 12? In all of Japan? And he’s smack-dab in the middle of the midwest to work on this simulator? She secretly hopes he’s as friendly as he looks, and his size and ranking is the only intimidating things about him.
The room is still stunned into silence as the surly blonde steps up next. “Katsuki Bakugou, Dynamight, No. 15.” He continues to glower after he bows, and the next hero begins their introduction.
“Holy shit...” Trix breathes out.
The whispers quickly pick back up after that.
“Are we lucky or what?”
“Not one but two top pros? What’s the catch?”
Poppy sighs. Under her breath she says, “Don’t look a gifthorse in the mouth.”
Trix grins and rubs her hands together. “You won’t hear me complaining. This is gonna be gooood.”
Poppy stifles a giggle, and Trix wiggles happily beside her. “You know, Trix, someone might mistake your excitement for the heroes themselves."
Trix’s smile falls immediately and her spine straightens. “Absolutely not.” She hisses softly. “I just want my hands on their support equipment. I can’t wait to see how they work–” She makes grabby motions with her hands.
A loud “shush!” comes from behind the two. Poppy’s head snaps to the side, her glasses’ chains clinking softly with the motion. Her eyes narrow with suspicion on Ditch, a low ranked American pro hero with a shitty attitude who has been with BMS for about six months now. His ego belongs to a top ten hero, but he couldn’t pour water out of a boot if the instructions were on the bottom. Which is hilarious considering he has a water quirk.
He raises an eyebrow at her as if to challenge her. Say something, he seemed to say. I dare you.
“Down, mama bear.” Trix pokes her in the side, quietly urging her to turn back to the front. Poppy concedes but reluctantly. Ditch wasn’t worth fighting with today.
By now, the pro heroes have finally finished their introductions, and the luncheon is about to start. The guests are given first dibs on the buffet style trays: a mix of American cuisine and Japanese dishes. Everything smells delicious, and the pro heroes waste no time digging in.
“Come on, boss. They never feed us like this. Let’s feast!” Trix chants and pulls Poppy towards the line that has thinned out. They make their plates then join a table of their fellow artists. The table is chatting about the Japanese heroes, keeping their voices low.
“Hey, Pop. How long do you think this one’ll be? A year? Two?” One of the other artists, Jewels, asks as Poppy takes a seat at the table with Trix.
“At least two,” she replies. “We’re starting from zero here. Usually we have time to do our own research, get blueprints from support tech that are willing to provide it. We’ve never just been handed heroes like this before.” She’s not entirely sure how this is going to go. Japan has been tight-lipped about who they were sending so there was no time for research beforehand. The field office, affectionately referred to as “the cornfield”, might be seeing them often to test and see the pro heroes in action to start recreating their quirks and equipment in the simulator.
“You got your eye on anyone in particular?” Trix asks the table, but her eyes go to Poppy who immediately rolls her eyes.
As if the universe summoned him, the blonde pro hero with the scowl, Dynamight she recalls, walks past their table, muttering something in Japanese. Up close, she can make out a scar across his cheek and deep red irises. Poppy’s eyes follow him as if he were a magnet. “I’m sure they will all darken the doorway of my office at some point.”
