Nongender: A gender that is most accurately described by what it isnāt, not by what it is.
Note: If someone is a nongender of a binary gender, they are not necessarily the other binary gender. A nonboy is not necessarily a girl, and vice versa. Nongenders are for people who are more sure of what their gender isnāt rather than what it is.
Examples: A binary trans girl who is sure she is a girl would not need to use the label nonboy, as her identity is rooted in the fact that she is a girl, not that she is not a boy.
A gender neutral person who is sure they are gender neutral would not need to use the labels nonboy and nongirl, as their identity is rooted in the fact that they are gender neutral, not that they are not a boy nor a girl.
Another person is unsure of their gender and does not know what they are. However, they are sure they are not a girl. Thus, that person could use the label nongirl!
A demigirl may have a partial connection to being a girl, but is more sure that she is not a boy rather than she is a girl. She could use the label nonboy!
Important note: This might be synonymous withĀ Apsconsugender: āA gender identity that is a process of elimination. What it is--is unknown, but the person is able to define what it isnāt.
A gender where you know what it isnāt, but not what it is. like the gender is hiding itself from you.ā
