I mean from a boyslove-game-character-design standpoint alone that’s quite logical. I mean he’s a guy and he’s sexing up the protagonist and Ren doesn’t seem to be the type to go commando underneath his pants. It’s just... He’s a Rhyme avatar for fighting purposes in-game. Not only was he designed to enable taking off his headgear and cape, no, he’s even wearing underwear. Now I don’t understand much about 3D-modeling, but usually you model the fucking wardrobe right on top of the skin (if you even use skin and don’t just bent the whole body to take the shape of clothes you can slap the clothing texture on top of). So there is no use for double layers if you don’t expect the user to undress the avatar model... Did they expect the user to undress the avatar (except for maybe changing his “armour” to maybe improve his stats)? Did they think: Hey, that’s a human version of a dog, but maybe some people prefer him fighting in his underwear, because we made him looking so damn hot that the ladies go “Hot damn, I need that dude fighting in pretty much nothing!”?
