During these times of social distancing we endeavored to keep my mother as safe as possible by minimizing her contact with others. This means shopping is kept to outdoor spaces. I was reading a blog post on the @ontsouthwest about 8 public gardens to visit in the area. One was @heemans just east of #LdnOnt in Thames Centre. Although it is one of the largest and most popular garden centers, it does have a public garden with a water feature and lily pond that you can visit. We drove out for an afternoon excursion in search of a Rose of Sharon bush and set up for fall containers. We came back with a few new additions to my mom's ever growing garden. New shoe run day! Unsponsored this year, for a race season that’s not happening anyway, I can choose to run in whatever I want. I’ve run in @hokaoneone in the past, and just got the new Carbon spe shoes. Light, responsive, great ground feel. But most importantly, it’s a company whose insta feed you can scroll beyond Black Square Day and find athletes they have sponsored and featured of different ethnicities and body types way before this recent movement. It’s a great thing that many brands are now working toward creating a more inclusive environment in the outdoors and endurance sports, but it’s even greater to find a brand that was already doing it before May.
