I’ve been in love with drum corps since I was 13 years old. The level of musicianship, precision - the passion - grabbed me and ingrained a work ethic in my brain.

#janina gavankar#jersey surf#don't look down#dci#justadddrumcorps#off field#rejecting any comments of 'okay but imagine this with bd or crown' because how about#imagine a world where drum corps isn't a rapidly diminishing activity with fewer and fewer options for hopefuls#imagine teenagers not needing to start gofundmes to pay for a 4-8 month experience#(if there's one thing i'm salty about with dci it's how many smaller and local corps have been pushed into bankruptcy)#(because the activity has essentially turned many corps into million-dollar nonprofit organisations)#(and directors now need both a degree in music education and a degree in business management to keep a corps afloat)#imagine drum corps getting recognised for the skill and work it takes; imagine being able to watch championships on espn again#anything that makes drum corps palatable and accessible for a wider audience#anything at all#i'll take that#don't turn into this a pissing contest for 'but muh faves!!'
