Who does your character go to the most when they need a shoulder to cry on?
For a long time during her childhood and teenage years, Vivian went to her grand parents on her father's side when she needed comfort. Friends, occasionally but rarely so. Whether it was about school, or a fight with her parents, her sister or even her friends, she was on the phone, calling grandma or grandpa, back in the UK. The timezone difference wasn't making things easy so she tried keeping a digital journal. Tried being an important keyword.

It was already dimly lit within the manse as it was, but the shorter days meant it was darker still for much longer. With how infrequently Sona went out on such cold days it was common for her to lose track of days and nights. Especially if that day had been particularly cloudy and snowy. When she woke, there were no birds chirping to tell her if it was morning or not. Clef was still there, not eager to venture out into the cold landscape unless he absolutely had to. There was little to tell her the time when nothing was on the usual schedule.
It was those odd weeks where snow fell daily that were the biggest blur for her. So cold and dark... all Sona wanted to do was stay in bed under the warmth and comfort of her blankets, hugging her pillows in place of wanted cuddles.
Sometimes she would wish she could stay so lazy. Stay in those long, lazy afternoons where day and night were the same and the world was frozen outside - timeless and unmoving, where nothing could get worse. Things could stay in the awkward comfort of the present with whatever peace of mind she’d managed to scrape together thus far.
But that’s not what she promised herself. To stay in bed would mean Clef would get hungry. She would get hungry eventually, too, and the fireplace wouldn’t stay warm forever. If she didn’t get up the whole house would turn frozen. Nothing would get done.
It was amazing what the cold made a person mentally gamble when all they wanted was to stay cozy and warm.
To Sona’s usual credit, despite her discomforts and lingering sadnesses, she braved the chilly air out from under her comforter and put on her slippers. Day or night, whatever time it was, there were still things to do. Meals to cook. Stretches to stretch. Songs to play.
