ALTER CHAOS: Mobius Adventures Act 1
'Worlds Unite' is underway though something is amiss...
PREVIOUS CHAPTER: STARS AND STRIPES: WHAT GOES AROUND...
NEXT CHAPTER: STARS AND STRIPES: ...COMES BACK AROUND AGAIN
Alas, let me tell you a tale of love and betrayal,
Of a princess and a demon whose hearts were one,
Though their lives would come to be scorned by all,
For their tribes were opposite: like moon and sun.
And so they’d meet in secret, their love on display,
Until one day by another they were caught,
They promised they’d be together come what may,
Though that promise soon came to be naught.
A clash, a war, meaningless strife,
All because this love could not be,
So the demon grabbed hold of the love of his life,
Though alas, with him she would not flee.
The princess returned to her tribe to join the fight,
Though on the other side a plot was to be hatched,
For the demon’s people to eradicate them that night,
And so the flame of destruction was lit and matched.
Hearing of this the demon raced to warn her,
But alas, it was too late,
For when he’d arrived her people had come to stir,
Only to be met with such a gruesome fate.
He joined the fight against his own.
Everyone called him a traitor.
So the princess took his side, their love now shown,
If only he could have reached her…
In a flash of an instant,
Like a reaper with a scythe,
He’d barely even heard the soft chant,
And so, to protect her love, the princess gave her life.
Silence flees his lips,
Even as they hold each other,
And as her life slips,
He holds her tight, her coveter,
A flash of rage,
The sky grows hot,
A creature free from its cage,
The wrath of a god,
And from the ashes of destruction,
As the vengeful demon was sealed away,
Peace finally comes to fruition.
Dawn breaks upon a new day.
And so both ladies, one from each tribe,
Come together in truce,
Though as ancient texts inscribe,
The truth is often harder to deduce,
For there is yet another plot, one fueled by disdain,
Not everyone can truly see eye to eye,
And upon this day it shall rain,
As it is surely another’s turn to die…
“...” Eve watched with bleeding intensity as the two ladies approached, each smiling at the other. Though beneath their gazes, Eve could see it: the amalgamation of disgust and fear that would drive anyone to do the unthinkable.
Espio leaned over with a whisper, “Here comes the most exciting part!” Eve had been aware of the novel this production was based on, and that Espio was a massive fan of the series. Somewhat pulled back into reality, she smiled, happy to see her usually serious friend openly having fun for once.
Mina’s character held out a hand with a somewhat devious smile, “Let us share in this glorious moment as one.”
Eve heard a couple of whispers ahead of her, “Huh? Mina seems…off…”
“Yeah, totally. She’s really not on her A-game today…”
“Her acting is sloppy…”
“What happened? She seems like a totally different person…”
“Well…maybe it had something to do with that new record being cancelled and…”
The whispers continued to spread.
Eve shrunk a bit, the whispering of others making her very uncomfortable even if she wasn’t the recipient of them this time.
Amy noticed, frowning as well, “Hey. Don’t worry about it. People are going to talk. There’s nothing you can do about that.”
Amy could see the human’s face go slightly red, “I know that, but…Mina…she’s just trying her best isn’t she? She wasn’t an actress before this so aren’t people being too hard on her?”
Espio leaned forward, “No. Even after her career shift, Mina is good at what she does. That’s why they cast her in such an important role after all.”
Off to the side, Eve could spot a black-clad Mobian with a headset flipping through their script in confusion.
Espio’s brow furrowed, “Something’s definitely not right…”
Even Sally could see it because Eve noticed a slight twitch of her brow that communicated the same kind of disturbance, as if she was unsure for an instant whether or not she should continue.
Even so, she held out her hand in turn…
…and that was the precise moment the jagged knife entered her side…
