I like learning from you, I wish people would stop and think about why the things you say make them so defensive, instead of just reacting automatically as if you wronged them by pointing out their casual ableism. Just ya know, people really gotta start owning up to their actions, acknowledging what and why they were wrong rather than opting to continue acting as they do. You can't force anyone to do that, but I think you come pretty close when ya shove their actions back at 'em, make em see it.
I never have any intention of changing the minds of people I get into these arguments with. I do it for everyone watching.
I probably shouldnāt admit this but the tone I use often isnāt based on how offended I am or how I feel emotionally; I choose the tone of my posts depending on what I think will get people watching to reconsider their positions.
If you look back over that comic drama youāll see that pretty soon into it I decided to just let these people be an example of how easily NTABs will get emotionally and verbally violent if a disabled person dares to disagree with them.
I donāt give a shit about those people but every time I responded with a simple āfuck youā they made my argument for me.Ā
