Bed Peace by Jhene Aiko ft. Childish Gambino“Curled up with my head on your chest, it’s the best remedy for the pain and the stress.”
That being said, as uncomfortable as John Green makes me, that's just because I get a really weird vibe from him. I honestly DO NOT think he would ever have anything inappropriate with a teenage girl and I don't want to imply that. All I'm trying to say is that the way he treats teen girls has always made me feel a little uneasy for whatever reason, but that's really just me
yeah of course! definitely not accusing him of anything, but you’re totally validated in saying that he makes you uncomfortable.
So... I was the anon from earlier, and I'll come off anon now for discussion. Anyways, Alaska in Looking For Alaska and Hazel Grace in tfios were both at least somewhat multi-dimensional (although hazel less so, imo) But Alaska was totally manic pixie until she died, and hazel had terminal cancer. And if I understand correctly, girls in his other book had mental illnesses. It's like, in his books, some Really Bad Thing has to happen to a girl before she becomes real, and that kinda bothers me
hey there :) thanks for contributing.
so the other person who messaged me says that jg regrets how he saw girls in high school, do you think that’s true? or is it kind of like ‘look at me im a nice guy’ in your opinion?
yeah that makes sense that it would sit uncomfortably for you. for me i kind of thought the whole point of looking for alaska was that the ‘deep’ guy undervalued alaska and that was one of the causes of her death, or at least a contributing factor?
